Let me get this straight - you HuffPo "liberals" were anti-war when the republicans were pro-war, but so now that one conservative is anti-war you have become PRO-WAR? This isn't the a childrens' game where you root for your side no matter what - do you ave any real PRINCIPLES?

BS rationalizing of a war for the profiteers is evil when republicans do it but peachy keen when the guy you voted for does it?!

Wake up Obama Kool-Aid drinkers, we voted for change and we got BUSH III.

Obama is voluntarily actively expanding Bush's forever war into Afghanistan, more troops, civilian collateral deaths fanning the flames of hatred for America, hidden torture photos, guaranteeing forever-war $$$ for the profiteers.

Economic policy? How does anyone see a change from Bush except that the amount of $$$ now owed by taxpayers to the private banks that own the Federal Reserve will increase by $$$9 TRILLION.

A bimbo beauty contestant said "marriage should only be between a man and a woman" and braindead Obama kool-aid drinkers went hysterically bonkers, when that view is EXACTLY OBAMA'S OFFICIAL STATED POSITION!!! And his JD lawyers will be going into CA Supreme Court to ACTIVELY ARGUE THE MERITS OF DADT.

Want REAL CHANGE? Audit the Federal Reserve (Geithener and Obama's true boss) - the first step to ending the global corrupt debt-based monetary system and restoring America's prosperity.

I've got questions about the wisdom of the war in Afghanistan, but I suspect Will wants Obama to pull out so he can later say Dems "lost" that war.

You know, this WAS a country used by our enemies to plan and organize to kill Americans, unlike the other war.

By George F. Will
Newsweek
Nov. 6, 2006 issue - Many months ago it became obvious to all but the most ideologically blinkered that America is losing the war launched to deal with a chimeric problem (an arsenal of WMD) and to achieve a delusory goal (a democracy that would inspire emulation, transforming the region). Last week the president retired his mantra "stay the course" because it does not do justice to the nimbleness and subtlety of U.S. tactics for winning the war.

A surreal and ultimately disgusting facet of the Iraq fiasco is the lag between when a fact becomes obvious and when the fiasco's architects acknowledge that fact. Iraq's civil war has been raging for more than a year; so has the Washington debate about whether it is what it is.

How are liberals so desperate for affirmation from this neocon?
He wanted to stay the course in Iraq, was he right then?

I'm no supporter of George Will ; but I did a little research and found this from two years ago...

Title: "A War Still Seeking a Mission"

Evidently George was not a supporter of the 'Surge' in Iraq and was one of a few Conservaitives openly critical of the initiative.

So..... at least on his viewpoint here
He is consistent.

George Will? George Will had no problems with Bush starting illegal wars but now, all of a sudden Obama has to get us out of Afghanistan? Nothing would make me happier than bringing ALL of our troops home. I just don't need to hear it from George "Freaking" Will.

Is this the same George Will that said the ice in the arctic was NOT shrinking and he cited the University of Illinois and then the University of Illinois said they never said that and then George Will found out that the hacks(interns) that look up stuff FOR him made a mistake...

Slamming Will's column, Ezra Klein wrote, "Sadly, our political pundits have outsourced their scientific research to an intern charged with a superficial skim of Newsweek covers." He added, "I look forward to [Will's] correction."

Will should at least acknowledge that the war in Iraq cost us the war in Afghanistan. I agree that we cannot win there. The correct course of action was to pursue bin Laden into northern Pakistan in 2002, which we could have done claiming to free the Pakistani people from a totalitarian military regime (which they had at the time) that supported and exported terrorism (which they always have and still do).

Why sure, let's repeat history and leave Afghanistan in chaos. I'm curious George as to your true motives. Is it to pin a Democratic President with failure and premature flight or are the Afghans wearing those darned jeans?

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA.

How do you like that? Feel Good? Eh? Remember that one? The Republicans Greatest Hits! HA.

Republicans... Biggest bunch of hypocrites in the history of the world.

mr "cut and run" now wants us to "cut and run"? Don't get me wrong - I am all for ending BOTH wars, but these are the same singsong hippocritters that said during the previous admin that we would be demoralizing the troops and all those would have d i e d in vain.... me thinks something is wrong with this picture.

Bush and Company blew it with these ill-advised wars. Saddling the Obama administration with their resolution was, without question, immoral.

With that said, I simply don't trust Obama and the anti-military left to prosecute these wars. They seem more than willing to arrange things so that the wars will go on indefinitely.

The wars should end, and the troops should come home.

Now we get to find out what YOU really care about. We are now on the same side of this issue. Do we work together to bring the troops home, or was your opposition just about politics after all.

Henry Carey of the Lincoln Administration wrote that empires decline precisely for the features of usury, speculation, free/forced trade and perpetual war policy. Pull the troops from Afghanistan; it is an evil drain on the economy and brainpower of the population.

Why is Obama escalating the war in Afghanistan? Is it for the oil pipeline? Is it to capture Bin Laden? Is it to nation build? Is it to discredit the US Military? Why? He is in a position where he can make a clean break with the mistakes of the last President. He should end this war now, before it becomes "His" war.

It will NEVER be his war. Iraq and Afghanistan will always be the republican.ts war and specifically GWBush and 5DDCheney's war, period.

Correct me if I am wrong, was Will not the architech of the "ole cut and run" political strategy used against the Dems and Obama during the last election cycle.

I'm all for cuttin and running, just didn't think G. Will would say that... this is one step from Ricky Cheney saying let's cut and run!

So what would Obama do with 68,000 returning troops and high unemployment?

We know that war & conflict was George Bush's economic plan for the USA.

So how DOES Obama get out of this mess?
