Health Care Overhaul

Washington Independent :

On a conference call last month, Rep. John Boehner (R-Ohio) hedged a little bit on the question of whether Republicans, if they won a congressional majority in 2010, would repeal a health care bill passed by the 111th Congress. Rep. Joe Barton (R-Texas) is not hedging.

Is Barton aware that some kind of Majority would have to belong to the RepugniKon Party? How do they plan to mold any more law when they're clammering for the Big Drain Plug in the Bottom!

Once this is a done deal, the republicans will be sharing the Bachmann ritual if they try to take it away. It will be the new "third rail"

If you want to tell your congressmen and senators that you don't want the Health Care bill hijacked by their special interest friends, you can also email your members of congress by going to:

We have to ACT! if we want Health Care for All,

Organizing for America for pro-reform demonstration places and dates.

September 13 : DC

Call your representatives, especially if they are blue dogs.

Don't waste your time here with the stupid trolls. That's what they want, to derail you from ACTING.

Once it is done. It's done. Healthcare will pass with or without Republicans. Remember that.

There they go again. The GOP is the party of "I've got mine. The H*ll with you." Callous, cold, selfish.
If they even dared try, there would be riots in the streets. Wait...why am I getting upset. They will not regain the majroity in 2010. Or ever if they keep this nuttiness up.

This is probably the last chance we have to join the modern world and show that health care is a right and not a privilege. The rest of the modern world provides health care to all of its citizens. Only in America, the country so proud to be first among equals, do we treat our citizens so poorly in this area. We spend more on defense that most of our allies spend every year in total, yet we can not take care of our own.

We have an opportunity here. What is really amazing, but the insurance companies can not see it, is that there is an opportunity to make money here. A smart company will see the writing on the wall, realize that this step is what is best for America, and change their business practices to take advantage of the opening.

It will cost money, yes. It is high time we trim the budget, starting with the biggest drain on our pockets, the military industrial complex. It has gotten out of hand. We need to stop outdated war programs and scale back to fight modern wars, not the cold war.

It isn't but lets just PRETEND ANYWAY.

I suppose you are responsible for buying your own free speech as well? Or your ability to vote? Please. So you are saying you should have the right to health care, only if you can afford it?

Once health care passes and the American people see that the sky hasn't fallen and they actually have a better system than before, the Republicans will crawl back into their holes and steam. The Republicans have never succeeded in reversing Medicare and when in power, they actually never even tried, knowing it was the third rail of politics. Bluster is kind.

They won't have to repeal this health care package, it's so compromised the only people who will benifit from it are the insurance and drug industries. The Democrats have given too much ground, and the reform will end in failure. The ironic thing is, then the GOP will blame the Democrats. At this rate I will vote independent in the next election. I have in the past, when my government doesn't seem to work for the good of the people. I thought this administration would be different, I'm beginning to think I was wrong. Thanks Rahm.

A better system would only be single-payer. This alone would ensure Obama's re-election. It would also have to be enacted before 2013. During the next, let's say, six years of an Obama Presidency with all Americans discovering what it was like to have health care, regardless of employment status, it would be like it is in Canada, the U.K., Europe and other countries who have universal health care. It would be close to impossible for the Repubs to repeal it. They have tried it in other countries and once the people experience the freedom of not worrying about access to health care they tend to want to keep it, warts and all. It may not be making the MSM, but there is a huge drive for single-payer right now.

As long as insurance and pharma and the rest of the medical industrial complex like the bill, you know it's a bad bill for people. And if it passes the Repubs can be my guest and repeal it when they get back into power.
