New Hangover Fix: Asparagus!

To treat a hangover, drink lots of water, get plenty of rest -- and eat your asparagus, researchers say.

A new study shows that the amino acids and minerals in asparagus extract may ease hangovers and protect liver cells against the toxins in alcohol.

Researchers at the Institute of Medical Science and Jeju National University in South Korea analyzed the effect of extracts of asparagus shoots and leaves on human and rat liver cells in the lab.

Recently got an email that stated there is anecdotal evidence that taking 4 tbsp of pureed asparagus in the morning and evening has cured rather advanced cancers.

The key to not having hang overs is have a glass of water between drinks or between every second drink. Then go to bed with a large glass of water and drink plenty before bed.

I've noticed that if I've been drinking and I eat brussel sprouts I tend to have no hangover or little hangover the next day. Wonder if it is the same chemical. If anyone wants to experiment, I'm talking about a plate of Brussel Sprouts with garlic and olive oil and some rice.

I've found that the best way to avoid a hangover (besides not getting drunk) is to eat a healthy diet. If you're living on cheeseburgers and fries, your hangovers will be terrible.
