ted kennedy was a shameless, power hungry politician. he did nothing for the people and only cared about himself. you left wing moon bats keep looking for people to worship. it's really quite humorous to see you latch on to people and crown them with your own liberal sainthood.

Steele: '' Americans shouldn't be "guilted" into passing health care reform because of the death of Sen. Ted Kennedy.''

My take: '' Americans shouldn't be scared into not supporting health care reform because of the tactics of the Republican Party;''.

Steele as usual says something trying to be provocative, whether or not he makes sense.
The Senate and House will move forward with bills in the next couple of weeks. Steele's important because he's the RNC chair, but legislators routinely ignore him.

First you have to verb a noun. It takes a steady hand and a dull mind.

After reading Matt Taibbi's scathing article in the current issue of Rolling Stone, on the totally screwed-up, watered-down, boondoggled version of "Health-Care Reform", I'm of the opinion that we should wad it up and toss it into the sh*tcan, until we can vote out the current crop of A-Hole politicians who are selling us down the river. And that includes you, Mr. President, whom I voted for! The current version, which the idiot protesters are so vociferous about, is nothing else than a frankinstein monster designed to prove that "Government health care doesn't work" and will bankrupt the nation.

I find it quite interesting that HP hasn't felt that Taibbi's piece was worthy of spotlighting here.

Taibbi suggests that real reform on this issue will require a literal revolution to happen. I agree.

Right. They shouldn't feel guilted into wanting reform because of Kennedy's passing. They should want reform because 47 million of our own people are without health insurance and another 30 million is under insured. I thought Repubs are suppose to be about helping your neighbor. They sure have a funny way of doing this.

No, no, no, you've got it all wrong. They're about YOU helping their neighbor while they stuff pillowcases with cash and head for Bimini.

Steele is right. It won't pass because we are guilted into supporting Health Insurance reform, it will pass because it's the proper thing to do for the country.

Yes and those two social programs are in dire straits. I have an idea; let's start up another program like those two that are failing! Great idea! We'll run like the post office or the DMV.

I have a better idea.

Quit raiding the fridge.

How many Administrations have taken money from those funds?

And I'm not just bashing the GOP here.

Clinton did it too.

Do you have any idea how many IOUs that have been taken from Social Sercurity? If that money was to be put back, there would not be a shortage.

Stop backing statist economic policies and it will turn around. only thing growing right now is the government. That is a fact. See how they take care of themselves while promising to help you?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 07:59 PM on 08/31/2009

Lazy? Let me clue you in. This year I took a 20% cut in hours and a 33% cut in pay all just to keep my health care. The state of the economy that the previous administration had left us with, endangered my job, and having just been diagnosed with cancer, I wasn't about to be getting health care at a new job or on my own. I did what I could to to keep my insurance, and that meant taking a giant step backwards in my career.

Lazy? How dare you? People aren't without healthcare because they are lazy, they are without it because they are unable to afford it. Huge difference. Maybe if one day you find yourself without it, you will understand. I doubt it, but one can hope.

Doesn't Cobra allow you to keep your insurance during a transition such as the one you described? You can stay on Cobra for 18 months which would have allowed you to take another job instead of the paycut you took to avoid loss of coverage. I would have to do the math but you may have been better off taking a new job and paying the Cobra and come out ahead? Most jobs have a 3 month waiting period to become enrolled on their group plan.

I am very sorry about your illness and I hope that you can get better.

I am so tired of hearing get a job and get your own health care!! My husband served in the US Army and our family are entitled to a Gov. Heath Care Program! We are not lazy and have worked all our lives! Right now my Son is serving in the United States Air Force and is in Iraq! LEARN what a Gov, Heath Care is before blasting away your negative mess! We pay into this through Tricare and have Medicare as well! You are right in saying get your own Health Care because it is your choice, but remember, your JOB can go under tomorrow and guess what...you will be out of a JOB and HEALTH CARE as well in a blink of an eye or your job can discontinue your Health Care...drop you like a rock! Then what??? Cost of a good Health Care....Astronomical Monthly! Just shop around! I am for Obama and Kennedy care! Steele receives it and could care less about you receiving it as well!
