Erin Andrews: Peephole Video A "Nightmare," Work Will "Help Me Heal My Wounds"

CHICAGO -- ESPN reporter Erin Andrews said in an interview with Oprah Winfrey that having secretly videotaped nude footage of her distributed on the Internet was a "nightmare."

Winfrey's interview with Andrews will air Friday, Sept. 11, as part of a "Summer Headlines" show that previews the 24th season of "The Oprah Winfrey Show." Andrews also tells Winfrey she "opened up the computer (and) could feel my heart pounding."

Andrews' attorney has said the blurry five-minute video was shot at a hotel without her knowledge and she plans to seek criminal charges and file lawsuits against whoever shot the video and anyone who publishes it.

The reporter also says she's excited to get back to work this fall, adding "it's really going to help me heal my wounds."

Andrews will be working on air Thursday night for the first time since the video became widespread news. She'll be the sideline reporter for ESPN's broadcast of South Carolina at North Carolina State.

It was not clear when the video of Andrews in the hotel room first appeared on the Internet. The person who first posted the video didn't identify the nude woman, and Andrews' attorney later confirmed the video was of the 31-year-old reporter.

Andrews, a former University of Florida dance team member, was an Internet sensation even before the video's circulation. Some Web sites have referred to her as "Erin Pageviews" because of the traffic she can generate, and Playboy magazine named her "sexiest sportscaster" in both 2008 and 2009. She has covered numerous sports for the network since 2004, often as a sideline reporter.

I didn't know who she was till I saw the video. Funniest thing about it is the little bouncey bob up and down she does while drying her hair and looking at herself in the mirror naked :) It's quite strange and cute but ahem....oh yeah it's a terrible violation, um yeah.

Wow, poor thing. I would HATE to be violated like that. It's funny though the fact that they haven't caught the perpetrator who did this. He was supposedly travelling with her throughout the country along with an ESPN crew. Just the fact that he hasn't been caught yet says a lot about the network. Suspicion anyone?
Regardless of it all, it's nice to see her pulling it through.

The video was so blurry that the identity of the subject is indistinguishable. That the video was possibly taken by a coworker who cannot be found is suspicious. Now Erin Andrews is going on Oprah and will get a lot more exposure. We wouldn't even be talking about this if Andrews had let it drop. "Playboy magazine named her "sexiest sportscaster" in both 2008 and 2009." This woman is blessed with a perfect figure. This titillating story certainly will peak interest in whatever show Erin works. Whether deliberate or unintentional, this will be a publicity coup. Her manager should be renegotiating her contract forthwith.

I'm still wondering why Erin Andrews' lawyers confirmed it was her in the first place. Wouldn't the smart play have been to say that it was a woman who bears a resemblence to their client but was not in fact her? At the least, it might have smoked out the perpetrator of the crime, forcing him to produce evidence of where and when that video was taken in order to confirm that it was Andrews.
