Top Ten Ways To Irritate Dick Cheney (VIDEO)

First Posted: 10/17/09 06:12 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 02:55 PM ET

Letterman took on former Vice President Dick Cheney last night in a top ten list mocking his anger, heart condition, and love of "Gossip Girls." We're pretty sure the latter isn't real, but it would be amazing if it were.

Dave is no stranger to Cheney humor. Since the man left office Letterman has lampooned him regularly for having a torture dungeon in the basement of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, cataloged his mistakes, mocked him for his excuses, and even poked fun at his Netflix queue. Snap.

"The last time I looked, the United States of America was governed by the Constitution. Not by Dick Cheney. If Mr. Cheney continues to insist that he is the law, and not the Constitution, then he should be taken at his word. He should be stripped of his citizenship. And then, he should be treated like any other un-lawful combatant. Mr. Cheney knows the drill. He invented it. Then we will see whether Mr. Cheney likes living under his own laws, as much as he disdains ours." - Robert Henry Eller, Milan, Italy.

I posted this at the New York Times website in response to their editorial:

"Dick Cheney's Version" http://www.nytimes.com/2009/09/03/opinion/03thu1.html

I'm posting the comment here because it received the second highest number of reader recommendations, 337, of any comment to the editorial.

I'm human, so yes, I have an ego. But I decided to copy the comment here not to boast, but because the reponse made me wonder:

What would the political cost/benefit be if AG Holder actually follows the evidence where it may lead?

Is the administration's political arm correctly calibrating that cost/benefit?

All power to David Letterman whenever he drags VP Dick Cheney down through his many lies to the American people and his terrible betrayals of the US Constitution during the G. W. Bush presidency.

Thank you Senator Ted Kennedy for your constant struggle on behalf of the neediest in our society.

zezel,
All the comedians make fun of Obama, but face it...since he's not a doofus, divisive, mean spirited, ill-informed, selfish, arrogant, bumbler, there really isn't a lot of comedic material to work with.
The biggest thing you can laugh at concerning Obama is his coolness...which SNL did a pretty good job of.
Everyone lamented the end of Bush because they knew their comedy would be more difficult when Obama won. It could have been different with McCain/Palin...but I'd rather have an intelligent, compassionate president than 4 years of belly laughs if the old guy and flaky lady won.

Number one should have been: Inform him he is a has been, washed up, former VP, and nothing he says or does matters to anyone anymore.
