Hey straight guys: Is there any promotion that you'd consider performing a "sex act" on a guy to secure? I can't believe this- awful.
03:21 PM on 09/03/2009
and you wonder why the world is "slightly" annoyed about america....

Don't you all feel so much safer knowing that juveniles are in charge of protecting us? Hired juveniles. I don't have a problem with this behavior if it's in somebody's private backyard and they don't drink and drive. However, this is an issue of national security and to think we depend on these immature boys whose whole existence is based on the size of their peni$ disgusts me. As taxpayer who pays their salary, I demand their as$%$ be fired and sent home on their own damn dime to their mommas to immediately take a willow switch to their backsides.

Okay, HuffPo, this is number 3 .......... give it a rest and post it.

We didn’t learn a thing from the crimes at Abu Ghraib and other sites, so we decided to stoke the fires of contempt by this new contractor debacle in Afghanistan. Where do we get these people that we put in these critical positions? The US as a role model for the world, are you serious. Before we ever consider ourselves to be a role model for the world, we should consider a full makeover from the inside out. We need to clarify who we are, what we are as a nation and the true values we hold so dear. The world will not respect us until we respect ourselves. As I see it, if we don’t get a handle on these serious problems, then these serious problems will get a handle on us.

They have most definitely stoked the fires of my contempt. "Here we are to save you from the Taliban..." The people of Afghanistan can at least look forward to a day, preferably soon, when these guys will be sent home. The people of America will than have them here, among us, perhaps one day employed to patrol our cities. These are the people we send to predominantly Muslim nations, and then we wonder how come we're not "winning hearts and minds?" Are we so sure that "this is not who we are?" When I watch clips of town hall meetings on health care full of hateful "tea baggers" and "birthers", I'm forced to conclude that these drunken, homophobic, bullies do represent a sizable number of "us". Next time you hear, or perhaps even say, "why do they hate us?": remember these guys, and imagine that they just invaded your country and are lording it over you: then, tell me you aren't learning to build IEDs.

Unfortunately, some of these mercenary types seem to like exerting power over others in violence, sex, or humiliation- that's why they enjoy this job. I'm sure it's a small percentage, but they wreak havoc, while colleting big salaries under the aegis of the US. Its very bad for us.

Wackenhut, a for-prift company, also runs detention centers in the U.S. This is just emblematic of how many of the jobs formerly run by our government have been foolishly handed over to for-profit companies. As Bill Maher noted in one of his recent shows, not all things should be run by for-porfit companies. The jails, medical care, firefighting, policing, and the Army should not contract out to for-profits. It is more expensive for the taxpayers and leads to exactly this sort of disgraceful behaviour..or worse. There is no oversight. And the bottom line is the buck. Read Naomi Klein's "The Shock Doctrine"..it's all about this. Google Waxckenhut and the Corrections Corporation of America and Blackwater.

"The Shock Doctrine" should be read by every American citizen, along with "Confessions of an Economic Hitman," IMO

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! The spoils of privatization in all its glory. Out'em and FIRE them. Willing to bet most of these idiots, if not all, are conservatives and call themselves christians.

Company of "Wackenhut Services" sums it up.

Sheesh.
Loved the clarification that those participating were not gay, yet fondled each other.

Come out of the closet already.
There's no shame in being gay.
01:08 PM on 09/03/2009
Not that there's anything wrong with that (being gay that is)

One more example of free market idiocy. Work formerly done by military conscripts and later volunteers is now farmed out at exorbitant cost to rather large gangs of what are essentially criminals. But hey, its a contract and everyone knows that business can do a better job of whatever government does so let's give it them and let them run with it.

So, let's see. Can't entice enough low income youngsters into the ranks even in a jobless economy (that ought to tell you something), so let's hire a bunch of thugs at $100k/yr/thug. Now we're talkin' some bidness.

Let's bring back the draft and make it equitable somehow (I'll leave that to others) and most of these problems will disappear and politicians will be more reluctant to send our boys and girls into the meat grinder.

Cheers,
Jack

But the repugs wouldn't like it. Cuts into their profits, what would Mr. Cheney and his ilk do if they couldn't have war profiteering and degrading and dehumanizing behavior to help spread democracy. Makes you proud to be an American, doesn't it?

Why would a straight man think that was a great time? I dont get it. I understand people haze each other to get into clubs but there are other ways to do it. I'm not religious or uptight about sexuality but this display of pointless hedonism is ridiculous.

It's not only hedonism if coercion, intimidation and threats are used to obtain sex. that's called rape.

Mercenaries are being employed and kept employed in order for lawmakers
not to install a draft...a move that would toppled any president and end any
war. GW didn't want to lose his presidency or his war and it appears Obama
cannot extricate himself from the mess. To maintain the numbers needed in Iraq
and Afghanistan the government [gw/cheney] contracted with wing nut
"professional" killers who think war is a hunting trip and the best party ever.
Imagine being a regular soldier trying to cope not only with "enemy" combatants but
these hired madmen in the field. Now, imagine bringing these madmen home.
