Nancy Garrido's Attorney: Nancy Loves Jaycee And Her Girls, Felt They Were A Family (VIDEO)

Nancy Garrido, wife of Phillip Garrido, the man police accuse of kidnapping 11-year-old Jaycee Dugard in 1991 and fathered two children with her, "loves Jaycee very much," according to her attorney Gilbert Maines. Maines said he spoke with Mrs. Garrido, who is also in prison, a couple days ago and that "she's distraught, she's scared. She seems to be a little lost at the moment. She doesn't seem to be able to really focus well."

Host Meredith Vieira asked if Maines could describe what Mrs. Garrido's relationship was like with Jaycee and her two children by her husband Phillip. Maines said,

there came a time when she felt like they were a family. And she loves the girls very much, and she loves Jaycee very much. And that seems a little strange given the circumstance, but that's she has said to me.
