DJ AM, aka Adam Goldstein, was laid to rest Wednesday in Los Angeles at the Hillside Memorial Park.

Friend and fellow 2008 plane crash survivor Travis Barker was among the small group of family and friends who attended the burial, as was actor Scott Caan.

Seemingly not present was heavily pregnant former fiancee Nicole Ritchie, who has yet to speak out on the tragedy.

Goldstein was found dead of an apparent drug overdose in New York last Friday.

I have two questions :

1. How many more articles about this person are we gonna see here?

2. Who was this guy?
.

The best answer I've heard yet was that he did performances for celebrities. Which is why you and I have never even heard of this guy.

Anyone who criticizes the way people are dressed at this funeral is a bitter, gossipy old bitty.

Show some respect, for crying out loud! His friends and family might be reading this article.

When I was young, young people thought looking sloppy and unkempt was 'with it'
Now these same people are older they're all upset over young people today having the same attitudes as they did.
When it comes time to be responsible for the world, these young people will have matured, just like we did. I'm not at all afraid of what the world will be like when they're in charge. They might do a better job than we have, and leave less mess for following generations to clean up.
I only hope that they remember what it is to be young, and don't point fingers and whine about the young people of their day.
The more things change, the more they stay the same

These "young" people YOU are referring to are 35-40 years old, WAY TOO old to be dressing like youngsters not to mention WAY TOO OLD to be acting like this~

Do you think that Travis Barker is thinking that the Final Destination thing is happening and he's next?!

So what is the deal. He had a baby with Nicole Richie, and she is pregnant again, is he the father? How said to die so young and unnecessarily, leaving a young child without a father.

Be careful with those drugs, all things in moderations. Watch over your friends.

Nicole Richie and DJ AM DID NOT have a child together.
Joel Madden from Good Charlotte is the father to her first child Harlow Winter Kate. She is pregnant with their second.

Well, with all due respect (honestly, I'm not trying to be a major beatch-although you are, in a way, speaking ill of someone who is dead-) but apparently
YOU give a s**t, you are the one who had to click onto this story and afterwards decided to comment on it. So, you absolutely care. A lot, it seems.

Why all the comments about attire? Nobody cares how you are dressed when you pay your respects. If you come in a suit to a millionaires funeral, or jeans.. unless you are self absorbed or a d !m wit, you are ok with whatever folks wear. It's not a fashion show.

No, it looks pretty sad. Would you want some guy in baggy jeans and an extra large t shirt sitting next to your mother at your funeral? It's just a matter of respect for the actual family. Grandma's not going to understand.

But the dead person won't care.. and Grandma probably wouldn't either, if she is there to pay her respects to someone she loves. Recently, I attended a wake in maine, where there were bankers, fisherman, farmers and all sorts of other folks young and old. They came in jeans,, uniforms, suits, dresses and slacks. Some came from work, and were a bit dirty and others dressed up and prepared. It was all good. The family appreciated the showing, and the dearly departed.. who was blue collar working slob, didn't care.

To survive a plane crash and just walk away unscathed, it was not going to happen...

RIP DJ AM

I was there in spirit, wearing my jeans too. Godspeed.

He was the best dj ever! Had the pleasure to see/hear him twice...once in LA and once in DC!! He was the best!! Rest in peace DJ AM!!!

BTW, i don't see anything wrong with the way his friends are dressed!! To each their own!!

As a 5 generation deep Los Angeleno, let me tell you that we dress a little different than the rest of the country. A nice clean pair of skate shoes and a clean shirt cuts the mustard. These are his closest friends, and I'm sure he would dress exactly the same at their funeral, doing so is expected. Any other place, you're right, it would be disrespectful and I wouldn't try it, however amongst my lifelong Los Angeles friends and family not so much of a big deal.

nothing wrong with the way they are dressed, when my husbands best friend died, we all wore jeans to his funeral. A funeral should fit the personality of the person who died. I think that's univeral, not unique to LA

when my best friend died, her memorial consisted of mostly punk rockers drinking guiness (her favorite beer)and blasting the dropkick murphys (her favorite band). were we being disrespectful of her? as her best friend, i can tell you, she would have loved it.
dj am was not a suit and tie kind of person, and neither are his friends. each person shows respect in a different way.

Nothing shows the dead more respect than a meaningful and proper celebration of what they loved in life.

I have mixed feelings about the attire. I understand dressing how DJ AM did, but there's also a certain level of respect, reflected in dress and hygiene, that could (should?) be shown for his family and the type of event a funeral is. I do think that Travis should have broken out the razor and/or at least trimmed his face. That, to me, is rediculous. In the end, a man is dead. RIP.

Who cares how they are dressed or not dressed? If you've ever seen DJ A.M. his style is jeans, tshirts, plaid, etc. Very laid back, very chill. Though the clothing choices may not be something certain people would want at their services, for Adam it's perfect. The man dies and people worry about his friends attire. As for Travis's face, he and Adam were good friends, he is mourning the loss of a friend so a little beard comes with the mourning. At the end of the day, there are so many things in life to worry about and this isn't one of those things! Adam, rest in eternal peace.

Hey, calm down. I'm just giving my opinion. Did you miss the part where I said I understood why? I think it shows lack of decorum, but hey, each his own, right? Nobdy is "worried" about anything. It's simply an observation.
