Dr. Phil To Appear On Oprah For First Time In Seven Years

Phil is no longer a psychologist. To be a psychologist you must be licensed.
He was involved in a "dual relationship" with a former patient. This behavior is ethically not tolerated by State Boards. The Board (Texas) indicated that he was to have taken some ethics courses and be supervised for a period of time before his license would be considered for reinstatement.
He chose not to adhere to the Boards recommendations.
He is not licensed and is therefore not a psychologist.

dr. philbilly is a discredit to his profession. wouldn't bother me as much if he didn't hold himself out as a mental health professional - he's just an entertainer and nothing more. he's violated every term of ethical conduct ever written for that field. I haven't watched his show in years, but did manage to stomach a few minutes of it tonight until I noticed that his chair was larger and sat higher than his guests chair. How insecure can this man be? He actually has to have a chair that positions him, literally, in a superior position? His ego clearly knows no bounds.

Ego or not, he's one of the most brilliant psychologists in the world. That's how he met Oprah. He was leading court room psychologist who could come up with strategies to win major cases. Thus, he can create strategies to help viewers solve their own problems.

I really like oprah and respect the good works she has done, however, I think dr phil is a quack who is more about his own ego than really helping people. He's just another jerry springer.

dr.p lost me when he exploited the octumom.
she was already a fraud in my books when he just exploited it more
to a point of ridiculous.

he is a greedy tv personality as far as i am concerned.

Oprah's not stupid, she owns the "Dr. Phil" show. She's kept him making her money while she has forged ahead in other areas. It's time to fine tune the relationship and send him back out to generate income for her empire.
