The seven cows call is not stupid at all if the cows could wander out into a road. Fast cars hitting cows are totally demolished and people riding could very well be killed. In fact, while driving in Argentina you will see signs posted -- "Report livestock on roadway by calling 911" -- in certain areas.
How about "The 100 most banal HuffPost entries of all time" ? There are many good candidates each day, every day.
Why didn't they pick up McCain and arrest him? He called multiple times and was rude, no different than the Chicken nugget lady who couldn't get her money back.
Now that is WAY too funny. Wouldn't surprise me. OMFG I think he's gonna run for governor here in NY. Puleeze Lordie, don't let it happen!!!
Honestly. It's very difficult to rank these. I'll be magnanimous and grant that they are all equally stupid.
Oh. please!! Having been a 9-1-1 operator for a decade, I can assure you that these are not even close to being "The 11 Stupidest 9-1-1 Calls of All Time". For one thing, the woman calling about her cows being out may have gotten abusive, but many 9-1-1 callers do-- they're stressed out, and they want help NOW. I worked in a rural area, and cow calls were routine. Cows on a roadway are an extreme hazard-- just ask anyone who's hit a cow, or any officer who's worked a vehicle-cow accident.
Here is STUPID:
The woman who called 9-1-1 to report that the crickets in her bedroom were chirping too loud for her to sleep.
The girl who called 9-1-1 to report that the car in front of her was using his windshield washer, and that it was blowing back onto her car (can you say "tailgating?).
The guy who called 9-1-1 to report that the female passenger in a car that had just passed him had "flipped him off' . . . with BOTH fingers!!
And please, if you call 9-1-1 from a cell phone, please try to get good location information.Pay attention to where you are. Not all 9-1-1 centers can receive GPS data from cell phones, especially in rural areas, so if you don't know where you are, you can't help the dispatcher get help to you.
911 dispatcher should have just told her that your call is not life or death and we are unable to accommodate and hang up...
This is fight between two egos...
I'd rather fight with Eggos
I think the 911 operator should have dispatched a few officers to lock this crazy woman up.
Here's another 9-1-1 call from Glenn Beck:
"Obama is going to indoctrinate and brainwash the children of America!"
But seriously folks, did you notice how many of these calls are from cities and towns
in The South?
The one about Eucalyptus Drive and Oak St. is an old joke. That guy must have thought it would be funny to reenact it in real life.
I heard that joke on the Prairie Home Companion annual joke show about a decade ago, and it's even printed in The Prairie Home Companion Pretty Good Joke Book, March 2000.
Is it me or were only the African Americans arrested for their calls? Burger King vs. McDonald's particularly. The McDonald's customer was far less irate in her call .
Also, if the Subway guy paid for his sandwiches and the employees kept both the money and the product then subsequently locked him out b/c they were "afraid" of him, isn't that theft on their part?
So report them. But it's hardly an emergency!
Well, they were in different areas so it's harder to know what the protocol is across the board. But yea, the black folk were the ones arrested out of all of them. Things to make you go mmmmmm.
As far as Subway, if he was threatening to the employees, they have every right to lock the door behind him. I have worked retail, and if some customer is screaming at me and getting angry, I would lock them out too.
I will agree that if he actually threatened them, of course he should be arrested. But he was outside making a phone call TO the police. My perception is that the employees 'felt' threatened but were not actually threatened, otherwise I doubt the man would have called the police on himself.
My favorite was the stoned cop who said ,"I think we're dead"!
I don't know who got arrested, but that dumber'n rock woman should have had her kids removed while they investigate her intelligence and maturity to act as a parent.
