Not only did "Real Housewife of Orange County" Lynne Curtin not own the house she was living in, she also didn't own the furniture ... and now she's accused of stealing a bunch of stuff after she moved out this week.
The actual homeowner claims Curtin stole a bookcase, credenza, armoire and a glass shelf -- worth around $5,000 -- and reported the alleged thievery to Laguna Beach Police Department yesterday.

Ok, so which housewife hasn't been "on the move?" - I think the most financially stable have been the NY gals. Taken in context, these shows are fascinating studies in downward mobility - or rather- dis*illusionment.
Bravo shows are becoming so fraudulent. Bravo knew that Lynne didn't own the house when they were taping last year--the producers ended up paying the homeowner a per diem shooting charge because the Curtins were always behind on their rent. And yet, Lynne's bio on the website still says that she and her husband own the Laguna pad. They rented it just for the show.
Between the ringers (e.g. Gretchen) and the backstories that aren't covered until the stupid reunion shows, I think that I'm done with this guilty pleasure.

But didn't it start back in the eighties? Remember that hideous little mercedes that came out so all the 'normal' people could afford to drive a benz? I drove a used 79 Grand Prix. That my parents sold me for a thousand bucks. I loved that car with all its red velour-ish seats and the way it hugged the road on curves. Pontiac Wide-Trak or something..
