RE: Public Trusts/Adequate Representation/The Dilemma of an Apathetic and Decreasing Eligible Prospect Pool: I don't completely understand all the rangling (... hey(!) that's close to Rangel), posturing, and prioritization that goes on behind closed doors in the congressional ethics committees; nor do I constantly agree with the politics of either Speaker Pelosi or Congressman Rangel. I do, however understand that the pool of eligible black politicians is decreasing at an increasing rate, and those who are qualified would more likely than not, opt for something better-paying, as we are oft wont to do. Those others who can't, and probably won't ever qualify for public office, but who do, contribute in some meaningful way to our society, I think, deserve at least adequate, if not better, representation. I think (Nancy) Pelosi is getting focused on, and (Charles) Rangel is adequate among a minute-pool, and is getting picked on too!!! jaj-gbg.

What the congress needs to be focused on is

recession and world wide depression and

Republicans always want to deflect attention
way from their misdeeds, but it is their misdeeds

really? she's not even interested to get his view point or to see how he explains these allegations and stubborn facts? unreal, because it's pretty clear this guy has broken several laws!

and as an earlier poster referred to, look at the ages of those discussed in this article. rangle (78), pete stark (77), sander levin (77), john lewis (69)... and pelosi herself is 69. it's career politicians and the lack of term limits that breed corruption - in both parties.

this country is run by corrupt politicians and greedy corporations. and THAT is why bigger/more government is never the answer.

Rangle should agree to switch chairmanships himself. If he cares for the country and the Party, he should do it on his own. Granted, he isn't any more corrupt than the majority of the Republicans but he has done some very stupid things.

Nothing makes me angrier than seeing a minority or a woman or someone who belongs to a group which has been abused and vilified in this country attain a position of power, where they can do some good, and then become corrupt and put those who abuse the groups to which they belong because of their behavior.

Rangle should do this for his own good and that of the Country.
