The Hill:

Sens. Susan Collins (R-Maine) and Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) both cast doubt Tuesday on their support for a public-option component to the Democratic healthcare reform effort, which suggests that the Obama administration is still struggling to win over key Senate centrists.

However, Collins and Lieberman both told The Hill they are more supportive of a "trigger" concept floated by Collins's Senate colleague, Maine Republican Olympia Snowe, which calls for a public option to be implemented if insurance companies fail to fix the current system's cost inefficiencies.

I always thought Lieberman's vote on health care was the price for letting him keep his Homeland Security chairmanship. Remind me again what we got for not kicking him to the curb.

The message to all politicians from their constituents should be --.".. vote for healthcare reform, including the public option, or, I am not voting for you in the next election."

Utter arrogance was a term best remembered for Bush and his administration. Welcome, congratulations, and I hope these elected officials choke on it.

We've had 60 years of a "trigger". These two privledged politicians are out of touch with reality, and the plights of the American citizen. Time to reitre, seniors.

We don't need no stinking triggers, just healthcare reform, options and healthcare affordable for all. Better yet, Single Payer, NOW!
