BEIJING - A woman in eastern China was allegedly beaten to death by five employees of a Wal-Mart store who accused her of shoplifting, a police report and state media said Tuesday.

It seems our efforts to achieve actual results with regards to reform in the banking & finance sectors are futile. In addition, the disconnect between reality and wall street keeps widening. The situation is frustrating.

that was really tragic
I got caught shoplifting at Kmart when I was 12 and I dont remember being beaten to death. Was she stealing a smart car.
And I half expected the beating was due to the return of cabbage patch dolls...

Far and away the most obviously racist country I've spent time in.
There has got to be much more in this story that hasn't come thru. Was the woman a member of one of (claimed) 87 or so minority ethnic groups who are looked down upon, sometimes reviled, by the "real Chinese", the dominant Han ethnic group?
And then the building collapsed because it was discovered to have been made out of gram crackers. Government authorities immediately ordered a media blackout.

This is crazy. She should have been waterboarded, admitted what she took and then released.
Wall Street wise guys steal billions, destroy lives, bankrupt nations and then get rewarded with bailouts by the US govt and get bonuses to boot. I didn't know walmart had anything worth stealing, but they've stolen jobs from American workers.
Yeah didn't know they had actual stores in China!
