Axelrod Slams Dick Morris On "O'Reilly Factor": "I Don't Know What Medical School Morris Went To" (VIDEO)

I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Senior White House adviser David Axelrod appeared on "The O"Reilly Factor" tonight after President Obama's speech on health care to a joint session of Congress. O'Reilly asked Axelrod about a warning from political consultant Dick Morris that Obama's plan would lead to rationing of care. Axelrod dismissed the criticism from Morris, noting that doctors and nurses and the AMA are all in favor of the reform plan.

Axelrod also took a shot at Morris at which O'Reilly laughed: "I don't know what medical school Dick Morris went to."

Does this mean that only the rich should get treatment so there wont be rationing. That's dumb.

more good people would probably be attracted to a healthcare profession if they did not have to answer to an insurance company trying to make a profit off of a person's suffering

I am beginning to appreciate O'Reilly a bit more after seeing Beck.

I know it seems crazy, but after hearing Glenn Beck, everybody on Fox seems more reasonable, particularly O'Reilly. I know -- it's CRAZY.

If I'm not mistaken, the AMA controls how many get to apply to medical schools in this country. Maybe they need to let more in.

Anyone who takes Dick Morris seriously, isn't thinking straight. It's Dick Morris!! Remember letting his hooker listen in on his calls with President Clinton, to impress her.

i don't think they will be rationing care any time soon. the local clinic had no waiting today and have streamlined their operation with mini laptops and no paper work. poeople who came in were in and out.

so won't it be great if there's more demand for doctors and nurses and more young people can go to medical school and nursing school and have a decent job? what a specious (and morally bankrupt) argument.

Morris's agruement is
HOW ARE DOCTORS GOING TO SERVE ALL THESE NEW CUSTOMERS?

It's better to have 40 million without healthcare so doctors can be seen?

I think the governing force is called 'Supply and Demand".

I'm sure you must have heard about it. It was in all the papers.

Same, but different. The demand for medical care is infinite. Think about it - how much would you do or spend to save a loved one? Supply then is limited by the AMA, schools, government, tee times, etc. Tee times I understand. The others I don't see any reason to continue. We could change the supply curve, but at the same time only minimally affect the demand curve.

He went to the medical school which specializes and is named after Morris' first name.

He went to the medical school of "turn on your friends for a buck"

The guy's a loser and if it weren't for faux news and inHannity, he'd be talked about in the past tense.

Bill is essentially arguing that if we as a nation stop rationing care by providing affordable insurance then we will be rationing care because the sick will be able to afford health care. Seriously, does he have no one that can tell him "Hey, work on your arguments a little better because that doesn't make any sense my friend"? The scary thing is his "logic" makes sense to a substantial amount of Americans. Maybe education should have come before health care???

I don't think anyone from the Obama administration or any Democrats should go on Fox. They always make us look bad. Unlike MSNBC.

I think it should be phrased, "They always try..." Obama went on O'Reilly to show two things. First, he's everyones President. It's not a blue versus red issue, it's an American issue. Second, he went on to show he is a rational guy, capable of standing in front of a right wing talkshow host and holding his own easily.

I think they really just need to push a unified message from the White House. The apparent lack of support is allowing the confusion to run rampant. The real question is, should Progressives sandbag real Healthcare reforms, (IE no caps, no pre-existing conditions, dropping coverage, etc), only to get the Public Option through? My opinion is that ultimately some action needs to be taken to reduce the cost of healtcare, and the Public option coupled with an insurance exchange allows this to happen.

Otherwise Insurance companies are still left to Industry Practices, to set their pricing.

It still absolutely amazes me that Administration types like Axelrod and other Dems continue to give credence and legitimacy to America's "official organ of wingnuttery", Fox News, by appearing on their ridiculous programs.

My only guess is that their egos are so inflated that they believe they can sway the average empty-headed Fox viewer with logic and reason.

Dream on, folks! These "people" are a lost cause. What's more, the Fox News ghetto of hatred is only getting worse and more belligerent. "Incitement to revolution" is practically their official motto replacing their obviously tongue-in-cheek "Fair and Balanced".

More jobs for doctors, nurses, hospitals. More doctors who actually become doctors because they care? Less expensive emergency room visits. This is a bad thing?

I think we won't have a crushing demand for doctors because more folks will be able to have preventive care which will keep their illnesses from needing extensive or more expensive and serious treatment.
