You libs are falling for a muslim problem. They always like to blame someone else like the West or Jews rather than theirself. Americans can rightfully criticize Bush because of a war not needed. But Iraqis were liberated from a dictator and power was transfered from a minority to a majority. This would of eventually happened with much bloodshed anyway. The sectarian killing was all done by them. The shoe throwing was just another example of how the Muslims don't own up to what they are responsible for.

I wonder if these were some of the family members of the widows and orphans he was throwing the shoe for?

Absolutely.......

To paraphrase, Muntazar said this is from the Iraqi widows and orphans. As a journalist, he had been doing a story on them prior to the "fling fest".

I wonder if the "shoe was on the other foot" and thrown by an Afghan at Obama? To disrespect our President, no matter who it is is wrong.
Funny the same people that are cheering this man in the USA are the same ones complaining about Obama's treatment by the Right.

Its beyond clear that the shoe-thrower meant no disrespect to the US or to the presidency. The disrespect was intended simply for the man. A man who was a fraud and who grossly and criminally abused the office to directly cause all manner of serious harm, both to the US and to Iran.

I respect the actions of the man who threw his shoes and President Bush. It was a dramatic yet essentially non-violent protest; one that worked to earn great sympathy for his point of view. I believe that President Bush earned that disrespect and the President Obama has not. That is not a partisan comment; that's a fact, at least that represents the facts as I see them.

George Bush lied us into an costly, unnecessary and unjust war; President Obama is attempting, at great risk, to resolve a conflict that he did not start, in a part of the world that represents a grave threat to American security.

As to "Obama's treatment by the right," this gaggle of ill-informed and ill-intentioned hysterics are an ongoing embarrassment to the conservative movement as well as to our entire country. Bad judgment, bad manners and utter ignorance of simple facts offers no basis for political reform. One can not build a political movement on ignorance and hysterical lies without fantasizing that the government of a great nation can be overthrown by mob-violence. The Conservative movement has degenerated from Jesse Helm's Circus to Rush Limbaugh's side-show... "Come watch the geek bite the heads off of live-chickens" is not a political battle-cry. It is a revolting joke.

His actions were the most fitting of the "good riddance's" to the Bush/Cheney debaucle! I hope he gets medical care after leaving prison, I was appalled to learn he was beaten and tortured by Iraqi police!

He never should have been jailed. I read you will not meet too many Iraqis that have not lost friends and family in the war. Many of them are bitter.
