Organizations across the country are running campaigns as part of Hunger Action Month, a national fight against the millions going hungry in America and abroad. Feeding America asks consumers to give up something simple every day and donate the saved money to help feed the hungry, be it a cup of coffee or a new CD.
A new campaign by Share Our Strength, the Great American Dine Out, seeks restaurants who pledge to donate a portion of all income between September 20 and 26 to the organization. You can search for participating restaurants through Share Our Strength.

Thousands of restaurants across the country are helping to end this condition: They have registered to participate in Share Our Strength's Great American Dine Out, September 20-26, and will donate a portion of proceeds from the week by creating special menu items or selling promotional coupons to generate extra sales.
Participating restaurants that send in the money they have raised by November 20, 2009 will be eligible to win a behind-the-scenes tour of the Food Network studios and kitchen in New York City.
