I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Eight years ago today, the worst terrorist attack in United States history destroyed twin emblems of our country, killed nearly three thousand people, and shattered countless lives. In the time since we, as a country, have tried to rebuild and to prosper despite the still smoking hole in our land, and in our hearts.

The attacks on 9/11 affected each and every person in this country, if not the world. We all have memories from this day seared into our minds -- some collective, but most personal. The Huffington Post is collecting photos and stories from that fateful day, as well as any event since that has been shaped by its memory, be it a memorial service, a charity fundraiser, or even a trip to the World Trade Center site.

To take part, just press participate below, mark it on our map, upload a picture and share your story.

GLAD i saved this picture http://eminemsrevenge.xanga.com/photos/f3482200529117/ before it was deleted from the internet!

Since i didn't have cable that fateful Tuesday, i watched it on one of the Spanish channels, which switched to a BBC feed as people were jumping out the windows, and THEY covered the jumps all the way to the final splatter [THAT PHOTO is one of the shots].

9/11 was too sanitized in the American media, so now it's a sales day at Macy's!

I can understand your desire to show an unsanitized version of what happened (here, in war, or wherever), but please post a WARNING when posting a graphic picture like that.

How to honor those lost on 9/11? Fill in that damn hole. Build something. New York politicians are disgraceful.

Funny how you would have an "intense memory" of something that never happened.
