Loved the way Obama schooled Steve Kroft on what really happened during the "bailout" of the automobile & banking industries.
No kidding, schooling a reporter of the actual events that led to gov intervention. Steve Kroft, sheesh!
So many of these supposedly vetted reporters gave up on preparation as it got in the way of their celebrity. Shameful!
Hannity is stealing a page out of Rush's book. Back in the nineties I would occasionally tune into Rush to know my enemy better. (And I might add, I got to know him plenty well, sickenly well, and haven't tuned in since and he hasn't changed since.)
Even back then he was constantly telling his listeners that they didn't need to read or think because they had him. And that's darn near a direct quote. It was that outrageous then and it still is now.
Sorry, this comment was intended as a response to ruffmama a bit further down the thread.
You didn't answer the question in that red herring response.
When does o plan on apologizing for his lying during his speech to both houses?
Enough already with the GENERALITIES, some specifics would be really nice. In particular how we are going to pay for the Health Care Reform. If there is that much being wasted or can be saved by the government today, then start TODAY! Prove to everyone that it is a real savings that is the big problem.
Should go to bed it's too late for you,
There are many well known and well described ways to save money in the current system.
The problem is that the system is not set up to take advantage of reality.
Basically, we pay for treatment, not effectiveness.
NO ONE has an interest to pay for effectiveness, or keep costs down:
- people on plans think the employer pays AND that 80% of the employees are healthy and don't know much about health sytsem,
- the employer knows that the worker really pays.
- Health providers get paid by treatment, effectiveness has no meaning, pay-wise
- The insurance companies get their profit no matter what.
- the Dems are disjointed, and the GOPers are bought by insurance.
So who is there to advocate for lower cost care? (Hint: nobody)
I like Ezra Klein. He is excellent source for your question. But at this point, you have to hunt.

"Prove to everyone that it is a real savings that is the big problem."
This is REALLY hard to do when one side is not constrained by facts, reality, morals or ethics.
Seriously, every other industrialized nation has solid, real world examples.
But the US has no use for international real world examples.
Considering all the crap Beck, Hannity and Fox in general spew out all the time, it seems reasonable he be allowed to talk too. Or maybe a one-sided discussion is now the Conservative idea of the Fairness Doctrine?
Hannity told his listeners on Friday not to watch it because he will break it all down for them on Monday's show.....why think for yourself when you have Hannity to tell you what to think and believe?
turn your tv off thank-you
obama need to take care of his business stop the lies from the right
DO WHAT YOU DO BOO
awesome another free infomercial for obama
I'm sure it'll be riveting.
As long as dislinformation runs rampant like the farce on D.C. today, Obama has to come out state the facts to keep confusion down.
Yesterday I heard Hannity tell his listeners not to watch the president on 60 minutes this Sunday because he will break it down for them on Monday.
Why think for yourself if you have Hannity to do it for you?
I would love to see the President use much more media leverage to get his ideas, words and plans out to us - the people who still believe in him, and especially those in doubt - rather than seeing the rabble rousers defining him all the time. More Obama-in-media would get in front of these detractor/distractors, and prevent some of the defending & explaining that he always has to do. We love to see & hear him speak!
"I would love to see the President use much more media leverage to get his ideas, words and plans out to us"
Seriously?
Is there a way he can be on television more than he is now?
only if he agreed to go on olbermann...oh wait KO does not get high enough ratings...nevermind
MSNBC type ratings
