thehill.com:

World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) CEO Linda McMahon appears primed to run for Senate in Connecticut and should make an announcement very soon, according to sources with knowledge of her deliberations.

"A decision is imminent, and she will likely make a decision over the next couple of days," said a Republican strategist. "It will be made sooner rather than later."

One well-placed source said McMahon is "99 percent" in. Another said the announcement could come as early as Wednesday.

I wonder how many conservatives think wrestling is "real"?

I wonder how many conservatives think their "leaders" actually give a damn about them?

It is funny to see the huffster bash this lady. Posters her probably know nothign about her politics other than her being a republican.

Can you immagine huffsters reaction if a lady, whose business back ground included being the CEO of a comapny that began as a small regionalized business and became a nationwide publicly trade company, was a democrat and republicans bashed her this way.

take aim at her politics. I do not know her poltics so I have no idea what to think of her as a candidate much the same as I have no idea about Curt Schilling's politics.

You've got to admit this is "really over the top". I'm not saying anything about whether any WWF management experience has the same qualities as a US Senator, but I don't think it does. To me this looks like a symptom of the severe discouragement among the American voter. The American voter has witnessed what they believe as one big scripted show or infotainment. It says a lot for any credibility of our elected representatives. (like lies, scare tactics, uncivil shouts during Senate floor time, etc)

Well she has been and is a CEO of something. Not a community organizer. The lies, scare tactics and uncivil shouts are well used by both sides of the isle. I could care less who runs for the empty seat. It is already a given that a democrat will win in Massachusetts. They are as unthinking as a person with a frontal lobotomy.

"Well she has been and is a CEO of something. Not a community organizer."

.......so I guess she can never be President of the United States then. A good one anyway.

Wait, was she an Ivy League legacy 'C' student frat-boy type, or did she at least take 5 or 6 years to complete a 4 year program at some State University. Because there could still be some hope for her.

Connecticut is too smart for this, I hope she does run. It would guarantee a victory for the Democrats.

Might as well. Politics has pretty much degenerated into professional wrestling anyway.

If it did, though, she and the entire organization would get in serious hot water for not lending equal time to air her opponents rebuttals. And if they thought they could script it so she comes out looking best, anyway, they run bigger risks of media ridicule and humiliation of her campaign as a consequence.

So no, I think she's smart enough to keep the two distinct. Not smart enough to realize running against Chris Dodd right now is a bad idea all around. But still smart enough.

...not that Dodd isn't in a weak position as it is, but thinking this means "I can capitalize" might just neglect the effect of demographics on who might vote for whom.

It's hard to imagine someone too sleazy for Congress, but here she is. The McMahons are horrible, horrible people.

Have any of you seen her speak? She did the get out and vote campaign for wrestling fans in college and she's a very intelligent woman.

Not unless it's scripted.

Remember what happened when Shawn Micheals mouthed off to that army guy in Syracuse?

Somehow I'm not surprised. A few chairs thrown, a few broken tables, things might actually get done.

Seriously? Linda, do CT and the rest of us a favor, give the money you'd spend on a campaign to charity. That would truly make a difference.
