The HighPhone: New iPot App Scores You Weed

Is your local cannabis dispensary not coming up on Google maps? The iPot iPhone application from NexStudios is the first location-based app designed to help patients track medical marijuana dispensaries in California. The app, which includes over 800 listings, rates dispensaries, offers directions, and even locates shops in nearby.

One user, Tearsinhiseyesiguess, on iTunes raves it's "cheaper than competitor...which means I have more green to spend on, well, GREEN (if you know what I mean)."

The WSJ reports developers are "working on additional features, such as a referral tool that lets users find doctors who will prescribe marijuana and the ability for reviewers to create profiles, as well as more comprehensive listings that include hours and menus."

Card-carriers outside Californian should also check out the Cannabis app, which was released in August 2009. The Sun describes the here:

Simply named Cannabis, the £1.79 app lets users search by city for their nearest medical cannabis suppliers, doctors, clinics, lawyers and other relevant organisations.

It currently covers 13 US states which have passed laws allowing medical cannabis use, legal cannabis "coffee shops" across Europe and uses Google Maps for directions.
