Jennifer Aniston

Jennifer Aniston sang "I've Got A Crush On You" on "Ellen" Wednesday.

Aniston recently announced she will sing in an upcoming movie "Goree Girls," based on the real-life story of a 1940's Texas country band made up of female prisoners.

Aniston at first refused, and then tried to get Ellen (future "American Idol" judge) to duet, before warbling out a verse.

She has potential as a singer, yes. But music is not something you just pick up one day. Unless you have God given talent at age 5, the rest of us had to work at it every day for years to have a decent voice.

I like Jennifer Aniston more as she ages. She's getting more comfortable in her skin. Beautiful lady, and I loved her singing. She's good!

Tonight, there are tons of talented singers and musicians who know there serious injustices in the world, and realize that this is just another one of them.

okay, okay - she did say they were ordinary people who weren't musicians at the get-go. Would love to see Simon & Randy's looks of complete disbelief when Ellen said, "I'd put you through to the next round". Good Luck w/ that gig. ROTFLMAO!

I challenge any one of the naysayers to go on national television in front of a studio audience and be told to all of a sudden sing a song. Let's see how you do. I was once quasi put in this position (impromptu in front of a bus of ppl) and I kinda fumbled thru it. She never claimed to be Celine Dion

I think she knew. She was noticeably clearing her throat and sitting up taller just a minute before the "hint" she should sing.

ok. Like someone said. JA's song is Cry Over me by Meat Loaf.

She never claimed to be a singer. She was reluctant to do this after being asked (but declining) points for her courage to do it anyways. As some have said here, considering it was impromptu, it was pretty good. Come on, she's an actress that will play a singer. She will likely have voice coaching in prepartion for the movie as most actors do.

Context here. A quote from the director Michael Sucsy
"These women learned to harmonize and they learned to play instruments," he explains. "They weren't these amazing, accomplished singers who banded together. "It's not just like, 'Hey, you can play the guitar, I can play the piano, I can play the harmonica. Let's put a band together.' It's like, 'We have to get out of jail, and if we have to put a band together to do that, then that's what we're going to do.' "

That was adequate for an impromptu session.

She sang well enough that Ellen got a little moist in her tighty-whiteys.

Though she may not be a virtuoso - which requires more courage, singing on TV or typing FAIL?

i'd rather hear my beagle baying than listen to this medi0 cre actress sing. LoL
07:53 AM on 09/18/2009
Of course you would. It's only natural that you should find your own species' mating call more pleasant to the ear than an actress' singing.
