WOW!!! Change we can't believe in. Obama seems to be a front man for same masters as Bush. He is no different than Bush except the color of his skin and the smile on his face. It's called friendly fascism folks. Any of my fellow dems that believe he is really one of us has had their ostrich head in the sand for too long. Don't be a lemming and follow his wiretapping, hoodwinking phony claptrap off a cliff. Ill change my mind when he really takes a stand and isnt trying to please the right wing kooks or mainstream, moderate Dems who have been so spineless about Iraq,Afghanistan and Nine Eleven.
The good news is that the Republican legislatures will not be able to satisfy the beasts it has created. Hannity, Limbaugh, and Beck will continue to isolate the reasonable people from the insane. We all need to put more pressure on advertisers to stop sponsoring the hate delivered 24/7 by FOX News, Beck and Limbaugh.
Example: The story Carter made about racism should have been complemented by a statement such as Gibbs: "The President doesn't know what is in one's hearts, but if racism dwells there, then that will be their personal cross to bare. He is the President of all the people, even those who hate. The hate will not disrupt the President's agenda."

The right wing has to make noise because they can't do anything else. The dems have a solid majority in congess and they have the presidency.
All they have to do is put good legislation on the table and that will shut up the opposition pretty good.
Can't they get a health bill out there that the right has to vote for?
We can then move on to Bush's unpopular wars and do something about those.
And when we've done that, who is going to care about some loony rightie howling at the moon?
If "good legislation" ever comes out of this Congress, I'll be looking out the window waiting for the pigs to come flying by.

Calling all Liberals, Progressives, and Moderates....Lets look forward and not Backwards when it comes to Healthcare Strategy. The Presidents strategy of staying above the initial fray was brilliant. The Repubs were so busy attacking they never came up with any actual Health Care Policy. Everybody even on the right Knows Health Care is Broken...so now all we have to say to any Right Wing Nut Jobs at work or in our families is... If you dont agree with Obama what suggestion do you have to fix healthcare? Answer... Still Waiting...

Ya lost yer most vocal and aggressive supporters from the 'left', with yer 'up-front compromise', and now that that is in jeopardy, in the Senate, ya have ta try ta fight this battle w/o the people who would have fought this for ya......,!?

The best strategy is the forceful and unrelenting use of well-informed surrogates.
The American people also have a responsibility to combat the racist hatespeech of not only those in power, but those in everyday life.
The right is attacking via the use of code words, phrases, and negative comparison. The good news is that their strategy never changes.

These right wing actually take shifts around the clock. Unsuspecting people who go there will only find right wing who spew hate, lies and racist remarks. While admirable to a certain degree, there comes a certain time when you have to put your foot down and say "Enough is enough". Be more forceful with your convictions; but, NOT to the point of arrogance commonly displayed by Dubya.

After all this time and Obama doesn't know how to fight back? If he had taken the lead on this very publicly before the summer there wouldn't be a question about how to fight back now. You can't fight anything when you consistently imply that bipartisanship is a fact of life and it's really the only way to accomplish the goals of this administration. Repuboicnas have put up one roadblock after another and aren't interested in working wih the administration. All they want is to stall any legislative proposals coming from the White House so they can go back to their gangs of brown shirts and say,
"We won. We broke him", and the way it looks now with healthcare reform especially, they have.
Another counter-punch strategy is the Hoover maneuver...get on film Limbaugh, Palin, etc, in compromising positions or on the take for $$. The FBI has been doing that for yearsssss to democratic canidates and personalities.
