Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer met with seniors in Greer on Thursday to talk about health-care reform, but the event soon turned to politics when Bauer said his offer to forgo a run for governor if Gov. Mark Sanford resigns is only good through next month.
"This was really about health care, but when you open up the floor, you get a multitude of questions," he said. "I'll probably announce in the latter part of October, and until I announce, I said I'll just take myself out the running if he'll step down. But I have to start my campaign at some point."
