Kate Gosselin

Kate Gosselin continued her co-hosting stint on 'The View' Friday and talked about her opposition to Jon's 23-year-old babysitter and possible lover, Stephanie Santoro, that led to a police-mediated fight at the Gosselin house last month.

"I actually showed up and just cried and didn't say a word," she said. "I sat at the gate and just sobbed." Jon, however, refused to unlock the gate and a screaming match ensued. Someone called 911 and Kate spent the night at a Day's Inn.

As for the alleged nine mediocre sexual encounters between Jon and Santoro following an initial naked soak in the family hot tub, Kate said she doesn't know whether the babysitter's claims are true.

"I'm not saying it's true or false," she said. "All I'm talking about is what my intuition is saying. And bottom line of this background story is I had never met this babysitter and it made me uncomfortable."

She showed up at the gate because she knew it would make the headlines, hence her appearing on the view. If she really wants to be the best mother, she would stay home instead of continuously making the rounds of every talk show. Why don't the studio just give her a talk show, that's what she really wants anyway.

I can't wait for the divorce to be over and Kate wipes her hands clean of Jon.

Marry in haste; repent in leisure. These two are a walking, talking cliche. Too bad they now have 8 kids to support.

I don't get what it is she may have to offer of value with her books, possible talk show, her present reality show etc. The original premise of the once cute reality show are gone-and so why is it still on? I am so sick of seeing and hearing about both of them. Talk about oversaturation.

I've got an idea...

I'm going to find myself an "Octomom" and have a bunch of kids, then, when the cameras and spotlights come my way (which they inevitably will) I will use the forum to discuss REAL news and politics and the economy.

Brilliant!

Great idea, but unfortunately with the general population the ratings will be low. sad but true. http://newsy1.wordpress.com

To all these people that are against reality shows which feature children, what do y'all think of TLC's Table for 12? This is TLC"s newest edition to their lineup of reality shows detailing the lives of large families. This couple consists of a New Jersey police officer (he might be a state trooper I cant quite remember), his stay at home wife, their two sets of twins and one set of sextuplets. One of the sextuplets has cerebral palsy. This show is far different from Jon and Kate Plus Eight because it shows a regular family and how they cope being such a big family.

In an episode from the first season one of the older sons, a pre-teen, used a video camera and went around the house taping and talking about his brothers and sisters. The insight he gave into his family was very touching. This show's second season premieres tonight on TLC at 10pm EST. I look forward to it. Maybe others on here will watch it and see a large grounded family who love each other and think differently about this type of programming.

no disrespect, but I can't see a dime's worth of difference. Get a life.

i've watched both shows, and you are right, there is a world of difference. The Table for 12 family really seems like a family in which both parents have equal responsibility and care for each other as much as the kids. The value I see in watching a show like this is to see how people cope with difficulties in their lives with love and good humor.

On Jon & Kate, the show has always been about how Kate runs her family like a commanding officer including her husband and has to have everything exactly how she wants it. Each episode was always a process episode about how Kate managed to present the perfect facade of a family during a picnic, holiday, camping trip or what have you.

This may sound strange, but I used to watch Jon & Kate (pre-drama) for the how-not-to-treat-your-husband lessons. It seemed painfully evident that one day Jon was just going to snap and be out with the way his wife talked to him so disrespectfully and bullied him around. I think sometimes if you are a strong woman, you can inadvertently emasculate your husband by treating him like a child. I have never wanted to do that. So, it has been helpful for me to look at Kate as a cautionary tale. I guess it's true: It is better to be happy than to be right.

Now, I just think the whole thing is really sad and pathetic.

I watched Jon and Kate mostly for the kids. I agree that every episode was a lesson in how not to treat your husband, though I am not married. I think Jon and Kate never sat down prior to having children to talk about the actual parenting of said children. She was ready to be a mom and he was not ready to be a dad, or so it seems after all this time. I dont blame Kate for her husband not standing up and saying, "Im not ready."

All I have to say is.....who cares. Kate has always seemed to be less of the "shrew" then people depicted her to be, not at all knowing how it really is having that many kids to keep on schedule.
This whole "kate's a shrew" thing was so over spinned. Anyone with the responsibility of that many kids understands what's invovled. I feel no pitty for Jon. I get what happened here, and this whole thing has become something more then it ever should have.

She seems like a shrew to me, but I don't think she means to be. I just think that's how she is.

As the world is experiencing so much hatred, fear and anxiety with real issues surrounding (un)employment, housing, health care and a host of others, I cannot help but wonder why anyone with a shred of intelligence or conscience could possibly be interested in the over-hyped antics of any of the principals in this non-story...reality TV, while good for the bottom-line of the networks, is a frightening symptom of our "peeping Tom" society. A large segment of our population seems to be using the melodrama provided by these poor fools, who agree to open their private lives as a very public spectacle, rather than to look at the dysfunction that is going on inside their own homes. One cannot help but sense certain similarities to jaded Romans at the fall of their Empire, being entertained at the Colliseum by lions vs. Christians!

I am so sick of Kate Gosselin trying to remake herself. From shrew to victim.....maybe its time to be quiet and just take care of your kids.

Kate has become a caricature of herself, just as the View is a caricature of a show with real women - both are a joke which should be ignored. Sorry, Kate (et al.), there is No Santa Claus, the world is not flat, love your family First, and the rest of us should really just learn to look the other way.

Please ... this is what happens when people divorce. He is a very young guy who is going to have girlfriends. At some point, if she hasn't already, she too, will be dating. This is why people tell you not to divorce! Now your kids are going to be in the middle of both their romantic dramas and she's not going to like it when her kids are around Jon's girlfriends and vice-versa. She acts as if she's "Mother of the Year" yet she's trapsing off doing The View, writing books and doing press and trying to get her own talk show while her husband is at home with their kids! I don't get this chick. Who does she think she is?! Unless she starts taking her kids everywhere she goes ...she needs to be a STAY AT HOME MOM and stop doing press so her MOTHERLY HEART can rest at ease.

"B***H, PLEASE!" You _know_ you two had an open marriage towards the end. You and your once-elusive silver-haired bodyguard. We know. We talk. He was later identified as Steve, a MARRIED man with young kids. Your hands aren't clean, either, so you can take your l y i n g martyr act somewhere else.

This couple(JON AND KATE) makes me want to drive to Pennsylvania and slap both of them into reality. I don't care who cheated on who or why! What does tick me off,is when they started out they would do speaking engagements at churches and I attended one. The night started with Jon and Kate coming on stage and talking about how they had learned to turn things over to God and trust him and how they had been so blessed by letting go and let God be in charge. Kate spoke of how they put God first and then family and last thier career. This was just amazing how this young couple had such a wonderful message to bring to families, then the church would take up a love offering to give to the couple and everyone would go into the fellowship hall for refreshments and for pictures with the couple. Fast forward to now they are too busy talking about each others sex life to worry about God or the Children, and as for TLC I do not understand why they haven't pulled the plug on the show, its a circus and has nothing to do with entertainment or family.

Whoopie needs to take a breather. I do not blame Kate for not wanting a stranger with her kids. This is something Jon and her need to agree upon for the sake of the kids. And lets face it Jons choices lately leave little to be desired. He is trying to come off as a victim and the bottom line is he is a cheating liar. He thinks he is proving his manhood by trying to screw anything that comes along. He needs to grow up for the sake of his children.
