Why do so many on this post say she looks fantastic wearing clothes that make her "problem area" look look twice the size it is? It's just wrong, this outfit is horrible. The skirt looks like it should be worn with a summer top and sandals, The top and sweater are more traditional and fall into casual office wear, the belt divides the two and doesn't fit with office or a summer outfit. Maybe she doesn't look into a mirror after dressing ?

this is the worst outfit i have seen on her(and the countless other tasteless outfits). MO did very well during the campaign. What happened?. I know she has fairly good fashion sense. I think she does not care to uphold the position of FLOTUS. or is it something else. I am curious. I remember her looking very dignified and chic in a yellow suit. let us see more of that, please.

OMG!! And she's compared to Jackie Kennedy?!
JK never wore frumpy tight sweaters and full too short skirts, MO needs some fashion sense!

amistad, it sounds like you're in love!

She has a short waist and long legs it seems. Like every other woman on the face of the earth, some outfits look better than others...but as a whole I think she dresses well and I like her style.

I think Michelle Obama is intelligent, attractive and stylish. People who are jealous of her relationship with her husband, children, collegues and friends don't want to like Michelle. I'm sure a woman as accomplished as Michelle does not need anyone telling her what to wear.

I'm not fond of Mrs. Obama's belts. Some people just don't have the bodies for belts, and she is one of them. She wears them far too high, way above her waist, and they do not flatter her.

She could also do away with the argyle sweaters. Don't know if they are back in again or what, but they do not look good on anybody.

Do you mean cardigan sweaters? They are a classic style that have been around forever and look good on everybody.

Now, the latest on Clown Spice. A new book reveals that she convinced Obama not to have HRC as VP.

Someone who can't even dress herself is telling our president what to do?

Is she the one who told him to invade and occupy Afghanistan, s laugh ter ing even more of our soldiers?

I really feel sorry for her, it must be very difficult dressing a man sized body with womens clothes.

I take exception to your comment. A tall woman with an athletic build does not have a "man-sized body." She has a woman-sized body."

And save your pity. I'm 6' all and have always had an athletic build, because I love to work out and play competitive sports. It is very easy to find clothing that both fits well and is appropiate for a big hunk of woman.

MO's choices for attire don't flatter her or her body shape, and often are more fitting for a small woman or a child. THe skirt she wears in the photo above looks like a skirt a five-year-old girl would wear to a birthday party. It certainly isn't something that a 6' tall woman with an ample hip-line should wear.

She seems to think she has her own edgy style, but what she has is a style often seen: bad-choice style. I have to say, I"ve never seen it on any other FLOTUS, but MO does it almost frequently.

It appears to me that Mrs. Obama is old enough and intelligent enough to pick out her own clothes, and unlike Palin she probably pays for them with her own funds. I don't like the look and wouldn't want it on my wife. If Mrs Obama likes it, then it's a good look for her. Women are most attractive when they think they are attractive.

In a way I feel sorry for her. Every time she walks out of her bedroom someone grabs a photo and critiques her outfits. That wasn't done for either of the Bush first ladies, and certainly not for Hillary's endless series of frumpy pant suits. She's the First Lady' her job isn't to be a fashion trendsetter. Some of her outfits are wonderful, some fail, just like any other lady. As a normal course she has above average tastes and funds to buy quality, up to date styles.

To me it's a bit more important what she does and says than what she pulls out of the closet each morning.

"It appears to me that Mrs. Obama is old enough and intelligent enough to pick out her own clothes."

One would think so but that obviously is not the case as she insists on proving over and over with her bad choices.

I think the focus is on her dress because she hasn't done anything much in 8 months. Even a pro-Obama site like huffpo can't find any activities of hers to report. Promoting education and working with military families were 2 of her big "interests" according to her during the campaign. What has she done in these 2 areas? Very, very little. When she does something besides dress funny the media will cover it.

1. the focus on her dress started day one--before she had a chance to do anything--and has not stopped.

2. hp has plenty activities to report but has chosen to focus on what she wore, not what she did. example: they didn't write a word about her healthcare speech, choosing to take a poll about her belt instead.

3. you're equating hp with the media. the media has covered many things she's done (inner city school mentoring, several visits and speeches to military families, helping to secure a farmer's market near the wh). hp covered what she wore.

Dressing to suit the occasion and one's role is just a reality that we have to deal with in the professional world.

Would I rather wear denim jeans, a t-shirt and a casual blazer work? Yes. Do I do it? No, because I need to appear as a professional. It's part of my job.

MO appears to consider herself better than any of the other FLOTUS' our country has had, who have all been able to dress appropriately for the position. She seems to think her "style" is magnificent, when in reality it is a joke, more appropriate to be worn by a clo wn than by a FLOTUS.

The word "trendy" and the word "style" are almost diametrically opposed. Trendy is expensive the day it hits the market, and waited for anxiouly by people with too much time and money. "Trendy then goes into knockoffs that are cheap and can be found at one of those bimbo stores in most malls. This process takes about a month..Mrs. O usually looks pretty classic, but then goes for something newer in accessories..A very smart way to dress..Still hate the latest belt though, looks like it belongs on the wall at the auto repair shop.
