Don't albinos usually have pink/red eyes even their irises lack pigmentation?

I had to flip through to see the peacock. Where I live there are tons of peacocks roaming around. You have to stop for them while they cross the roads. In Charlotte, NC traffic is usually stopped for Geese. Here it's peacocks. In St. Augustine at the Fountain of Youth there is a white peacock. I'm not sure a white peacock is that unusual. The gorilla looks scary and the white tigers are gorgeous!

The white peacock may or may not be albino. I've raised both and, other than their genetics, they are vitually identical.

The tiger cub (the second tiger picture) is DEFINITELY not albino. He/she is a white tiger. He has coloration. Very different from an albino tiger. Albino, by definition, is the complete lack of color due to a rare genetic variation.

Thats not true, Albinos are animals that have little to no melanin in their skin. Their are plenty of ALBINOS with blue eyes. "white" people lying once again so that they can deflect what they really are.

Bitter much? That was pretty hateful and most if not all albinos don't have blue eyes. Blue eyes are a recessive gene trait. Green and brown are dominant. So a white colored cat with blue eyes does not make it albino. That's not a "white man's lie," that's a fact.

It's early in the weekend. They take smaller doses.

Btw I love your handle, I do too. I only wish she could have lived to hear our illustrious John Boehner state earlier this year "We have a pretty deep hole to dig ourselves out of."(speaking of the state of the g0p.

I am not sure that some of these animals are actually albinos.
11:24 PM on 09/18/2009
The white peacock is a white peacock, not an albino peacock. My partner and I raise peacocks, and have white ones. They are not albinos. I have white hair. That does not make me an albino.

Please provide picture (and let's vote on it) to prove you aren't albino.

Yeah, some of these animals are leucistic, not albino.

Your white hairs have been split! ;)
09:34 PM on 09/18/2009
I think that some of these aren't albino, they're just white or lightly colored.

Never the less... very neat.

I'm surprised there was no pic of a drunken, white rhinoceros. You know: an albino, wino rhino.

I wonder if the albino animals think they are better than the other animals as we have seen with humans?
09:48 PM on 09/18/2009
Being albino -- as opposed to being White -- is not a mutation that serves animals well in the wild.
11:15 PM on 09/19/2009
That's true....I've seen albinos from most racial and ethnic background - Black, White and Hispanic. I have not personally seen an Asian albino, but I'm sure they exist.
07:27 AM on 09/19/2009
Unfortunately for your ra cism, White Europeans are not albinos.

I know it hurts inside.

:D

This thread sure has brought out some low-IQ, thug-headed racists of the anti-White variety.

Here in Dayton there are white squirrels. Not albinos as they have black eyes. Descended from ones that kept by a girl from the Patterson family. If I remember correctly John Patterson was a founder of NCR and because of him the term You're fired! was born. He was a magnanimous fellow but could also be hotheaded and rash. If you offended him as much as you didn't do your job well, he would have your desk and things taken to out front and set fire to it. You'd come in and say "Where's my desk?" and people would say, you've been fired.
Anyway one of those squirrels took up in our neighborhood and just the other day I saw it had been hit.

I used to live in Dayton until recently and I've seen white squirrels there, too.
