The World's Biggest Burger & 19 Other Record-Breaking Foods (PHOTOS)

This has been a big year for big food records. Since 2009 began we've seen folks set the world records for biggest burger, tamale, meatball, cheesecake, sandwich, and piece of fudge. Here are some of the most fun food feats of all time. If we've left any out, email us!

Meatball

As a promotion for the upcoming film "Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs," Sony Pictures produced the world's largest meatball with the help of Ritz Carlton hotel executive chef Rainer Zingrebe on August 4th, 2009 in Mexico. It weighed 109 pounds. Jimmy Kimmel was not amused: "Mexico can't hold the world record for meatball!" So to celebrate the San Gennaro Festival, Jimmy had his team take 200 pounds of ground meat and win the record back!

I'm looking at the photo of the world's largest pizza. Either the average resident of Norwood, South Africa is 40 feet tall or someone doesn't know the difference between diameter and circumference.

How about the world's biggest food drive instead? At least some of these stunts are raising money for good causes, but really, there are better ways than making the world's largest scoop of ice cream.

Thank whatever God there may be, the truly hungry and those dying from lack of food on this planet don't have access to the internet to see this callous decadence.

wasteful to some degree, but fun, what they are doing is not going to prevent hunger around the world, most of them probably don't earn much, That being said the wealthy spend thousands of dollars on one meal for one person along with thousands of dollars for a glass of wine to go with that meal on a regular basis, that they probably don't finish eating or drinking. Now that is wasteful, money that could be used to feed starving people around the world
