Fox News Producer Caught Rallying 9/12 Protest Crowd In Behind-The-Scenes Video

First Posted: 11/19/09 Updated: 5/25/11

Fox News Producer

A Fox News Channel producer has been caught in a behind-the-scenes video rallying the crowd during last weekend's 9/12 protest in Washington.

The Huffington Post has confirmed that the woman in the below video — seen raising her arms to rally the crowd behind Griff Jenkins, who was reporting from the scene for Fox News — is Fox News producer Heidi Noonan.

"The employee is a young, relatively inexperienced associate producer who realizes she made a mistake and has been disciplined," Bryan Boughton, Fox News Channel Washington Bureau Chief told the Huffington Post.

The video shows the producer on her cell phone as she urges the crowd behind Jenkins to cheer louder. An "I'm A Foxaholic" poster appears nearby.

The 9/12 movement has been championed by Glenn Beck, and is designed to "bring us all back to the place we were on September 12, 2001" when "we were united as Americans, standing together to protect the values and principles of the greatest nation ever created."

Fox News heavily promoted the protest event, and took out an ad in newspapers Friday asking how other news networks could "miss [the] story," only to have competitors hit back with proof that they covered the protest extensively.

This should clear up FOX's involvement in the tea parties:

This reminds me of the GOP offering to donate money to religious organizations in return for protesters at political events. 20 Christian church buses were parked 5 blocks from this event and had a lot of hate written on them along with Tea Party logos.. These are the shame of our Country.

Did MSNBC tell you that? A link would be outstanding...if you can find one

This reminds me of the GOP offering to donate money to religious organizations in return for protesters at political events...not surprising at all. I can't blame these people for believing what they do (even if I honestly feel they are acting against their own self-interest and are generally uninformed), but I can blame Fox News Corp for being a soulless destroyer of public discourse and truth. They stir up publicity only so they can sell it back to the same frenzied people they just manipulated. It's a vicious cycle and it only will end in ruin.
07:19 PM on 09/23/2009
Although Fox “News” manipulation of events is a problem, I believe the greatest threat to America is the pending Supreme Court’s ruling on whether corporations have first amendment rights similar to individuals. The ruling is specific to an incident where a right wing group tried to show an anti-Hillary documentary during campaign season. My bet is the conservative court will rule that corporations do have these rights and can spend unlimited funds in political compaigns.

If you think money corrupts politics, you haven’t seen anything yet. There go consumer protections, a clean environment, and labor protections. Money in politics – the root of all evil! It is already bad with congress’ inability to pass health insurance reform; why we can’t get climate change legislation passed; and why we had the wall street melt down.

A news organization is supposed to report the news, not create and sensationalize it. The Tea Parties earlier this year were advertised on Fox for weeks. Hannity was at the Atlanta tea party. Cavuto was in Sacramento. Beck was in San Antonio. Van Susteren was in Washington, DC. They weren't there reporting. They were there cheerleading. That's NOT news. Fox News wouldn't know "Fair and Balanced" if it bit them on the a$$.

Please learn the difference between 'news' and 'commentary'...
07:58 PM on 09/23/2009
RightWingy,

This is the root of the problem! Fox "News" insists that it is a legitimate "news" organization. Conservatives state in polling that they get their news from Fox. I have relatives that used to be gentle, normal people but now are angry, cranky racists and are very proud of the fact that all they watch is Fox "News."
01:21 PM on 09/23/2009
I think the news portion of fox leans right, and then you have Hannity who is way right who pi$$es me off cause the republicans can never do any wrong and airs a whole segment of what BO is wearing and other dumb stuff, I seldom watch.

Beck, who despite some stup!d comments, really understands the role of government and the constitution. But if stup!d comments were the definitive standard, Pelosi would of been out a long time ago.

Ok Fox is right, MSNBC is left. Your just pissed no one watches MSNBC. Get over it.

I just found this link, now I can watch from my computer http://www.foxnews.ws/

inhale much?
04:07 PM on 09/23/2009
Nice comeback Einstein, take you all day to come up with that?

We sure can't Believe the BO admin.

More right winged propaganda….

On seniors, Republicans contended that some $500 billion in cuts to Medicare providers over a decade to pay for the bill would surely reduce patients' benefits. That's something Obama has repeatedly denied, though he was contradicted on the point by the head of the Congressional Budget Office Tuesday.

Budget Director Douglas Elmendorf said the cuts could reduce the generous benefits that the seniors in Medicare's private managed care plans enjoy.

Freeking Right Winged CBO and we lefties need to boycott the AP for reporting it.

Oh wow a producer firing up a crowd before going on the air. This is a story on the HP?I know you have to find a least three stories a day to attack beck on but this is silly.
11:46 PM on 09/23/2009
The way I see it, they cannot report the real hard hitting news, they just go for the fluffy stuff. So therefore they attack a commentator like Beck....who probably knows much more about the role of government and the Constitution than the entire HP panel combined...they hate it, they do not understand it, so they attack it.

There's a reason people call it "Faux News".

They got caught here staging news, and no amount of whining about imaginary media bias is going to cover up what happened.
11:12 PM on 09/22/2009
First of all only those who don't want their news served sugar coated call it faux...secondly, there was no 'staging'....of news, it was happening, she was there...Can't you focus on something more important like say, oh I don't know the illegal seating of the President on the UN Security Council, which he so graciously appointed himself to, which CLEARLY violates the Constitution.

No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State."

"Chairman of the United Nations Security Council" clearly meets the Constitutional definition of both an Office and a Title bestowed by not only a foreign State but by a huge collection of foreign States. Since Congress has not given its consent, it appears that ONCE AGAIN, Obama ignores the U. S. Constitution, a document he described as, "a charter of negative liberties."

THAT is slightly more important than you whining about a reporter on a cell phone at a rally...don't ya think? But I guess to THIS crowd...this cell phone issue IS news

RightWingy (rhymes with dingy). You should have angrily protested GW Bush and gang during the eight night marish years that shoved our economy off the cliff; yes, faux noose is full of misinformation, lies, fearmongering, etc. You should have told Bush about ignoring our 4th amendment rights. Ex-president Bush received many goodies from rulers of other nations...do your homework. Bush walked hand-in-hand with the King of Saudi Arabia. By the way; being the chairman of the UN security concil is not a position of nobility...the UN is not owned by a foreign state. The UN is made up of the USA and other ally nations...please, tell us more.

I watched the video....she is clearly on her CELL PHONE and yes, she is shown encouraging the crowd.

How is that different from: HuffyPost, MSNBC, CNN... spending more time on air and space on the web talking about FOX, RUSH LIMBAUGH, O'REILLY, HANNITY, BECK, VAN SUSTREN and bashing every conservative voice, public or private as loons...?

Could it be:

O'Reilly,,,,,,,,,#1 on cable 8 years in a row
Beck............#1 in his slot
Hannity.......#1 in his slot
Van Sustren #1 in her slot
RUSH LIMBAUGH....#1 on TALK RADIO for 20 yrs

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.....

That's because all the crazies flock to Faux and Limbaugh for their hourly paranoia fix. The rest of America, have every other station to choose from.

Protip: if every other cable news network is bashing Fox, then chances are the problem is on your end, not theirs.
06:17 PM on 09/22/2009
Fox "News" what a joke.
07:21 PM on 09/22/2009
Actually what is a joke is how hard and to what lengths the other networks go to attempt to discredit FOX...in the process making themselves look like a bunch of desperate whiners when they are getting hammered in the ratings. People who want the truth turn to FOX...the rest watch MSNBC or any of the other liberal media.

WOW. Are they supposed to be creating the news or reporting on it?
07:24 PM on 09/22/2009
Perhaps you are confused..they were reporting it, unlike the rest of the media. What's wrong with being a cheerleader..it's not like this one person had control over the entire gathering. Wow you guys can't really focus on the issues, you would rather focus on a reporter covering the event.
