Horrible show. But so is most of what's on TV, so it all makes perfect sense. Cable Sucks!

NPH is the next level of gay icon: straight dudes are actually willing to bromance him, and cut him alpha deference. That's never happened before. He's like if Rock Hudson was "out" the whole time.

The show was hit and miss (and a miss with the hits during the Family Guy cartoon. How gross) but NPH was awesome. He and Cat Deeley should host all of the awards shows.

So, did they bother to give out any awards??

(cough, Brendan Gleeson, Bloody brilliant, cough)

Neal Patrick Harris is adorable. The dog cartoon was shockingly horrible.

THEMA: COMEDY101; Where Absurdissimum Meets Reality! By Joel A. Jones, B.A., Political Sience/Philosophy(CONT.)
To parable-ize the concepts: What one doesn't know, won't oft hurt one; but what one does, often surely will! Uh Beh, Uh beh, Uh That's all folks!!!

THEMA: COMEDY101; Where Absurdissimum Meets Reality! By Joel A. Jones, B.A., Political Sience/Philosophy (CONT.)
But he is at the height of his powers when he resists the flood of his emotions and virtually derides it; only then does his spirit emerge fully from its hiding place---a logical, mocking, playful, and yet awesome spirit." [FROM; 'The Gay Science'; BOOK TWO; Section 96, pp 149-50; 'Two speakers.' By Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche.]

I sense, as you will, a mean between these two spirits; and as well, a mean along their respective paths. The realist, or dry wit, who finds his comedic mean in the short-fallings, or foibles of others, and the absurdist, who finds comedy, first, in his own misfortune, and those similarly situated, or affected. The Apollonian emerges first, trying to assert order to the mix of human emotion and environment, whose serio-dramtic style emerges as critic more often than not. Then the whimsical, but in many ways just as serious, undoubtedly more seasoned, Dionysian style, who has learned to accept his own foibles and those of others, through his very consumptive and accepting character. These two paths meet as the tragedy begins, and coincidentally the comedy too. The imbalance of the realist at a questioning of his efforts to steady himself, amid the chaotic flow of existence (to all), is where the laughter actually starts, and from there, it's going to be left to 'your imaginations'. ...

Look, Look, I think it's another possible PhD:
THEMA: COMEDY101; Where Absurdissimum Meets Reality! By Joel A. Jones, B.A., Political Sience/Philosophy

[BACKGROUND]: 'Incipit Trageodia.' The Comedic form had as its origin the Greek Tragedy, a dramatic form. The alchemy present when Apollonian reason, realism, ordered-ness, perfectionism, met Dionysian intoxication, chaos, spontaneity, and was the basis for drama, then dark comedy, then our present-day comedic form. Consider the following passage:

" ... 'Two speakers.'---Of these two speakers, one can show the full rationality of his cause only when he abandons himself to passion; this alone pumps enough blood and heat into his brain to force his high spirituality to reveal itself. The other one may try the same now and then---to present his cause sonorously, vehemently, and to sweep his audience off their feet either with the help of passion---but usually with little success. Soon he speaks obscurely, and confusedly; he exxagerates; he omits things; and he arouses mistrust about the rationality of his cause. Actually, he himself comes to feel mistrust, and that explains sudden leaps into the coldest and most repugnant tones that lead his audience to doubt whether his passion was genuine. In his case, passion always inundates the spirit, perhaps because it is stronger than in the first speaker. ... to be cont. ...)

Okay, Neil Patrick was correct in his attire.

However, you might appreciate this clip from the John Waters film "Serial Mom." Kathleen Turner is Serial Mom and Patti Hearst is Juror #8. If you haven't seen Serial Mom, I won't tell you what happens to Juror #8 later.
Although this was a satirical comedy, you probably have heard of real life stories that are quite close to "Serial Mom."

That "rule" applies only to shoes, not evening wear.
