Obama Forgets Daughter's Name? (VIDEO) Calls Malia 'Maya'

While discussing the distribution of H1N1 vaccines in an interview with CNN on Sunday, President Obama seemed to mispronounce one of his daughter's names.

"I think, you're looking at kids [who will receive the vaccine], and so, Maya and Sasha would fall into that category..." he said.

Doesn't matter. No sense in making a big deal out of this.

My aunt has two kids, and I've seen her call each child by each other's name several times. Her daugheter will just roll her eyes and go "Mommm....­I'm not XYZ!" Hubby is from a large family, and one sibling will address another by the wrong name 3 times in a row until they get it right. It's a riot, and of course they know each other's names. Just that when you are talking fast, it happens.

I have called my sons each other's name; it happens in most families.

The Prez's sister is named Maya and it just so happens Malia resembles Maya a whole lot. What's the big deal?

President Obama was brillant this weekend on all the shows articulating his views on healthcare and a board range of topics; however this is all you guys can find to talk about in the media field. MSM has jumped the shark; Maya is his sister's name or a nickname for Malia or a slip of the tongue or neither.

I constantly mix up my sister and daughter's names...I'­ve also called my children by the other's name and I have a son and daughter, hahahaha! Sometimes they ignore it, and other times they remind me who they are.

I do the same thing--mix up my brother's and older son's names. They both have three letters and end in M--it just slips out! I also call my sons by each other's names constantly. Totally normal!

Seriously, all parents and grandparents mix up names. It's even worse when they get the wrong name for the gender - calling John by Mary's name and vice versa.

I call my daughters their sisters' names, and sometime even mix in names of the dog and cats -- and I'm not even on TV. If this is his biggest flub, I'd say he's doing pretty well.

Once again, much ado about nothing HuffPo! My sisters and I all said that's the day we knew we were exactly like our Mom when we called our kids by the wrong name. My Mom would stutter and would go through the list of one of four names before she'd get the right name, especially when she was frustrated, under a lot of pressure, or when we were in trouble.

I do the same thing, and I only have two girls. What is really funny is that sometimes I will add one of my sister's names to the list, or I after I go through a few names I will finally point and say "you know your name." My daughters, who are 12 and 15, look at me like I'm a lunatic, and then they laugh hysterically. I tell them just wait until they have their own kids. I would not believe a parent who tells me that they have never called their child by the wrong name!
