...when Suri decided to go shopping with her mom Katie Holmes today, she showed she really has got style and taste.

Who would put high heels a ra-ra skirt and a stuffed elephant in the same ensemble? GENIOUS!!

Seriously?! People are making a big deal over nothing!.. Playing in heals is fun no matter what age you are! Do you seriously think that she is trying to make a fashion statement? how old is she? now if she were older and trying to be sexy.. that i would disagree with.. She is wearing little play heals.. and if i had the money i would buy my daughter cute ones too.. would everyone be happier if the shoes were plastic? with little feathers on them? just because she is wearing heals does not mean that they would allow THEIR daughter to get breast implants or pose for playboy, like some people are saying! Please! who would even say such things! can we say OVER DRAMATIC!? now here is what should be a big deal.. have you seen the show "toddlers in tiaras"?.. how about when little kids have cell phones, drink starbucks coffee, and what about the parents that blow smoke in their childrens faces while pushing then in a shopping cart.. or smoking in the car with thier children? what about all of those people who smoke right in front of a door way while people with infants are trying to enter? what about all the poor children that live in drug/alcoholic homes? do heals seem like such a big problem now? and if they were not famous nobody whould even know or care about it!.. let the kids play! it isn't hurting them...

high heels are damaging to adult feet. They are certainly going to be more damaging to Suri's soft little growing bones.
This is a really stupid fashion trend, high heels on kids? WTF?

On so many levels, this is just wrong. She is a LITTLE GIRL, for heaven's sake, not a miniature grown woman.

And yes, little girls (and little boys) should be encouraged to play 'dress up', to let their imaginations soar as they put on mom and dad's shoes, coats, hats, ties...as the pretend the world of grown-ups with grown-up clothing, but there is a time and place for everything. In public is *not* one of those places.

And there is a HUGE difference between putting on [playing dress-up in] too-big clothing items from an adult's closet, and putting on [and wearing as part of their wardrobe] 'adult clothing' that's been *specifically* scaled down to *specifically* fit LITTLE girls (and boys). There are stores selling th.o.ng underwear for LITTLE girls, for heaven's sake -- an item of clothing totally inappropriate to a LITTLE girl's mental and emotional maturity. Any adult getting for a LITTLE girl such an item --and similar, clearly 'adult' items-- of objectification is exploitative.

Come on, parents: Adult Up! A LITTLE girl is NOT a mini adult woman. She is NOT a mini object of/for s.e.x.. High heels *made for* a LITTLE girl's wardrobe exploit her. Any 'adult' allowing that LITTLE girl to wear them is condoning that exploitation.

Some comments here have been along the line of "my daughter insists on..." - my question is: And when did a parent's duty to say "no" to a child's 'insists' go out of fashion? When did a parent's parenting role get taken over by what the child demands?

Good lord, if a parent does NOT say "no" when a child 'insists' that they 'have to have' ['adult' but marketed *specifically* to LITTLE girls] high heels, what *else* will the parent *not* say 'no' to?

And why, then, when that LITTLE girl turns 13, 14, 15-years old, are those same parents surprised that the child has a totally skewed view of *what* a female's body is? Surprised that that young woman thinks her whole *purpose* is to act [and be] as alluring and as 'available' to men as possible?

Societies over the years have developed 'rites of passage' to mark a youngsters progression into adulthood. By pushing those 'rites' (eg: first pair of high heels, first pair of nylon stockings, first tube of colored lipstick, first manicure, etc.) to an ever and ever younger age, we blur the lines. We allow our children to 'show' adult/mature when they have NO earthly concept of what the emotional component is. How sick of us 'adults' to exploit our children so.

I can see already she's part of the "Toddlers & Tiara's" kind.

People who are protesting this probably don't have little girls or it's been a long time since they did. As the mother of a girl that age I can assure you that they can come up with ideas and demands on their own, and she probably wanted a pair of shoes like that herself. I agree that a child that age shouldn't wear makeup under any circumstances but dress up shoes are not a big deal. They don't look that much different than the Disney princesses dress up shoes on sale. Get a life! This kid has bigger problems than shoes.

Companies shouldn't make heels for little girls and if you give in to all your children's demands you might consider parenting classes.

Oh shes so cute! She probably wondered and asked her mom why she always have to wear flat shoes when all the grown-up women around her wear heels. LOL.

These so called "heels" are hardly the excruciating, back breaking, bone twisting monstrosities some posters are making these out to be. She's a kid, who probably wanted to wear a favorite outfit incl. these cute little sandals. So what? I highly doubt that this kid was forced to walk for miles and went home crying and rubbing her aching feet. This kid is hardly going "on the stroll" or being "tarted up" as some have posted. These same people then talk about this kid's parents as being terrible when it's their terrible minds that have gone to make such grotesque statements.

LOL, I did'nt get my first pair of heels until i was 10. My divorced dad got them for me and my mum was well pissed. Before that I had to wear those horrid plastic elastic ones, always slipping and falling out of them when playing dress up. That or my mums. Props to the dolt who is cashing in on ruining little girls feet properly though. Good ole American innovation and capitalism.

I went to the site the article came from. I have only one question: Why is the kid wearing high heels when her mom is in flats?

Because the child can wear high heels and still be shorter than her father.
She'll be wearing flats by the time she's 12 or so.

She's so freaking cute I can't stand it! She almost makes me want to have kids. People seriously need to get a life. Say what you want about her parents, but she is clearly a loved child.

I did a double take. First, they never let her walk anywhere. I've seen them carry her constantly. Now, she's walking and wearing heels?
I'm sorry.....my 10 year old granddaughter isn't wearing high heels yet. Nor is she wearing makeup.
I know it really isn't our business except if they take her out, being such a high profile family, they know that people will see the photos........
Weird.
