I Like ItI Don’t Like It

The presidential suite at the Waldorf Astoria hotel is really living up to its name this week.

President Obama checked in Monday and will be there throughout the United Nations General Assembly meeting. He is the latest in a long-line of presidents to stay or live at the Waldorf, a tradition that dates back to Herbert Hoover.

So what is the president getting for $7,000 a night? Watch the videos and find out!

And a video from a lucky civilian who was randomly upgraded to the room:

Just one question: Why isn't this in the Green section?

I saw a Learning Channel or History Channel program on this building, and it's a work of art. For all of us who scream about America back to work, this is the solid stuff that was produced.

My stay was a one-time thing (really bizarre with a return home a day or two before 9/11), and it is where a president should stay.

It might be the presidential suite, but my gosh, it's butt ugly. I'd wake up with nightmares if I had to stay there. LOL

It's not for nooky. It's to do work. It's not really that fancy, it's very secure and conducive to having working meetings.

I had my HS reunion across from the Waldorf last year. It is a really nice area, and there were some really funny protest going on because my reunion was the same night that the Alfred E. Smith Charity dinner was going on.

The protest was by the teachers union against the local Catholic Parochial School system because the proposed teachers contract not only had no raises in it, but required give backs.

So now the right is trying to play guilt by association. "acorn" IS THEIR NEW "WHITEWATER."

THe problem is that there is not even a thread of evidence tying Obama to ACORN's misdeeds. He did legal work as a private attorney for ACORN in the early 1990's.

The hotel room is the same one that all presidents stay in. Bush has stayed at the Waldorf many times.

THe rights cry of "ACORN ACORN ACORN" is laughable. Show me even one iota of evidence that Obama is involved in any of ACORN's misdeeds? He did legal work for tham as a private attorney in the early 1990's. Do they really want to play the game of guilty by association?

The right is trying to make "ACORN" into the new "WHITEWATER". A catch all phrase to hound Obama with. In additon, there is no evidence ACORN was involved in any kind of vote fraud. All they have is employees padding their paycheck by turning in bogus registrations. By law ACORN has to turn in any registration that they recieve. It is not their job to verify registrations.

Do they really think anyone but them care about ACORN?

The right really wants you to believe that Obama only won because "ACORN cheated." Even without one vote from someone registered by ACORN, Obama would have still won the election by millions of votes. Florida is haggling over 1,400 registrations. Obama won Florida by 100,000 votes.

As for the hotel room. Every hotel rolls out their best sweet for the president.

I'd almost have more respect for him if he actually had been involved in ACORN's deeds.

It's called the Presidential Suite for a reason and the digs are absolutely appropriate.

Are you kidding,,he is on government business, do you expect him to pay for his hotel. Geesh everyone is getting so out of hand. If I travel on business my company pays my room and board. Back off..

Yeah, but you probably stay at the Holiday Inn without an entourage.

Well, considering the president is there on official government business, and has certain security needs, it would make sense for the government to be paying for this.
