Meyers Brothers Trivia: Seth & Josh Face Off (VIDEO)

Seth Meyers sat down with Jimmy Fallon last night and made fun of the name of his new show "Saturday Night Live Weekend Update Thursdays" which, he pointed out, is misleading as it's neither on Saturday night nor on a weekend. The highlight of his time with Jimmy came in the form of a trivia game he played with his brother, actor Josh Meyers. Fallon asked Seth a series of questions about Josh and Josh a series of questions about Seth and saw if their answers matched up. They went 3 for 4, which is impressive, but not nearly as funny as learning the Meyers brothers' family secrets. Apparently, Seth is still on the outs with the family over an incident involving their pet rabbit.

This would have been a decent pastime were in not for the HILARIOUS response to who their grandmother loved more. I'm so used to self-deprecating humor (especially from Seth Meyers) that it was such a great delivery that it was so certainly declared as fact who she loved more.

An interview IS NOT a private conversation. Watching video 1 I felt like I was intruding. I can only imagine how it felt to be in the audience. Gee, I dont' know...ignored?

Although a fan of Meyers I am bored watching these two guys basically have a private conversation. This is why Jimmy Fallon is a very bad talk show host. It is also why I can't bring myself to watch him do anything without wincing in pain. His appeal and success is truly lost on me.

Johnny Carson and Dick Cavett knew how to interview. Charlie Rose and Tavis Smiley still do. Watching guys like Jimmy Fallon and Conan O'Brien make every "interview" about themselves, their own jokes and how well they know the guest is just plain boring and not at all what I call entertaining.

If that is what passes for entertainment in this impoverished popular culture you can have it.

Josh was on the last year of That 70's Show, wasn't he? I had no idea he was Seth's brother. Very funny guys.

And I think Jimmy is funny, too. His show has gotten much better, and he's getting more comfortable. I know it drives some of you crazy when he laughs at his own jokes, but I find it cute and charming.

These two are smart, silly and sexy = a triple threat. Fallon's auto tone bit at the Emmy's was quite funny.
