Turkish Diplomats Breach Security Bubble, Cause Scuffle Around Obama

The Washington Times reports that a scuffle broke out between President Obama's security personnel and Turkish diplomats yesterday when the diplomats got too close to the president's limousine.

The diplomats approached Obama's limousine after the president had given a speech to the Clinton Global Initiative at the Sheraton Hotel in New York. The diplomats, arriving before Obama had left, tried to enter the tent where the limousine was waiting for the president. They did not make it inside but caused quite a stir, resulting in Obama's security personnel physically restraining them.

A spokesman for the Secret Service, Ed Donovan, told the Washington Times it was a communication issue. "A foreign delegation got confused and were trying to enter the president's departure tent and didn't understand the verbal instructions being given. They had to be physically restrained," he said.
