The city that works is falling apart.
Only in the view of a serial liar would a statement like"The daily self-inspection records do not reflect actual conditions in the field, violations have not been noted on the self-inspection records that are evident in the field," be "not very significant".
Daley is no doubt fuming that he can't have the FAA fired the way he had former O'Hare security chief Jim Maurer canned. In a startling coincidence, just when Maurer was going on record about flaws in the airport's security, he was accused of assaulting an aid to the Aviation Commissioner.
Geez, he's been on that job since August 2005, and forty plus years on the CPD before that, retiring as chief of patrol. Competency is a handicap in Daleyland
This coming from a guy who flies charter on private jets...? "Not very significant" for him. But what about the rest of us?
Is there anyone with an active neuron that believes Daley? If ignorance is bliss, Richard M. Daley must be the happiest man on earth.
Hizzoner brushes off the Air France Concorde tragedy. Flight 4590 crashed as a result of debris laying on the runway of Charles de Gaulle International Airport..
On July 25, 2000, a metal shard slashed the Concorde's tire during its take off, causing tire shreds to be sucked into the engine. In the ensuing crash, 113 people died. This sad event was also the end of the magnificent Concorde as a viable air liner.
Maybe this serious issue would get Daley's attention if he thought it might cast a cloud on his 2016 Olympian boondoogle. Nothing else seems to matter to our dear leader.
Anybody remember this?
