Pelosi

Politico:

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi recently invoked the grim specter of political violence, arguing that today's angry political climate could cause people to cross the line from heated talk to dangerous actions. [...]

But it's not just Pelosi who is worried. In interviews with POLITICO, five former Secret Service, FBI and CIA officers say that they, too, are concerned that today's climate of supercharged political vitriol could lead to violence.

The white-right would be doing themselves a grave error to resort to political violence, and terrorist tactics. The left is adept at dealing with violence.

We're smarter as well.

I'm not surprised as the left has engeged in it so often. Just look at the G20 Summit.

If you are smarter, it's about time you started showing it.

If ANYTHING happens to President Obama, the Republicans WILL be blamed.
09:32 PM on 09/28/2009
Not with Biden insurance. Besides only republican presidents have been atta'cked in anything like recent times.

I hope something does happen - I hope he is voted out and you CAN blame conservatives for that relief.

Nancy Pelosi was right. Just ask the family of Bill Sparkman, slain census worker.
09:33 PM on 09/28/2009
So, who was responsible for that? And why?
09:47 AM on 09/28/2009
Why doesn't Nancy Pelosi resign and do America a favor. She is an absolute embarassment anyway. In fact, America, remember Senators and Congressmen/women were not suppose to be make this their profession. They were only suppose to serve the country and be compensated for spending time away from their full time positions. It is time to for Americans to put forth a ballot proposal regarding Congress and Senate do away with pensions let them buy 401Ks that is what we have to do. Decrease their wages, expense tabs, and only the American people can vote as to when they receive pay increases. Limit their terms to one 6 year term. Why should they be paid so much more than the military, who sacrifices their lives for us. That would cut government spending.

Obama focus on jobs at the moment.. Education money is going to create graduates without jobs. Bow out as gracefully as you can of the Global Trade agreement other than the open exchange of food, put tariffs back on. Americans stop buying imported crap . End work Visas until Americans are back to work and if a country wants to invest here they have to hire Americans including up to their Executives.

America it is up to us to take our country back, whether you are republican or democrat it is time to put that aside for now and reclaim our country. The answer is not taxing the rich 50% or making this a socialist country.

Did all the tr0||s here miss out on the hateful rhetoric and call to arms messages given out by clusterFOX and parroted by the extreme right?

Did all the tr0||s here miss out on the increased murders carried out in clusterFOX's name? clusterFOX says it, then the crime against that person is commited soon after. Instead of redirecting blame, try accepting that your party is infested with extremists, and figure out a way to get your party back to where it needs to be.

Um, did everyone here miss the G20 protestors? And you call conservatives violent?
03:21 AM on 09/28/2009
You'll notice thay are not getting much coverage by the leftist press. If they were conservatives they'd be all over the news. Compare that to the peacful Washington protest.
10:17 PM on 09/27/2009
Simple question for Pelosi: How many arrest were made at the thousands of Tea Parties around the Country? How many arrest were made at the G20 Summit in Pittsburg, Pa. when leftwing protestors turned that city upside down?
03:23 AM on 09/28/2009
Exactly. And they condemned the conservatives for simply raising their voice to be heard.
08:52 PM on 09/27/2009
The right is scared of liberals with guns. So scare them!

Not unless you use them on innocent people.

The tighty righties think they have the exclusive rights on gun ownership. Problem is, there are many left wing people who own guns (me included). The difference between the left and the right, is the right feel free to use gun ownership as a tool to instill fe@r with those that disagree with them. The left own guns to protect themselves from the right wing crazies.

Odd question. Has an almost zen quality.

Are you questioning Clayton's ability to recognize the truth?
Or are you questioning the nature of truth to be known? By anyone?

Again, what a peculiar question.

Hatred has been around as long as humanity. I probably started when Og would not share his bar b qued sabre toothed cat with his neighbor...or charged him 2 mammoths for one sabre toothed cat.

The current problem is that the hatred is being deliberately churned up by politicians for political gain.
Just as there are plenty of companies willing to make money from the suffering of people, there are politicians who will do anything to possess power. \they are following Machiavelli.

Again this has been done before. Here is the problem today. There is no central authority on the right willing to risk political power or the loss of votes wielded by unbalanced individuals, so the fragmented powers that be are willing to fan the fires in order to achieve power. At the same time some of the truly disturbed are getting their ideas validated by those who are in or seeking positions of power.

When something awful happens some people including media personalities will throw up their hands and moan that they did not know this would happen, the people who did this were crazy, and that themselves they have no responsibility at all for the actions taken for these people.

In some cases I actually feel bad for those who carry the Obama with a mustache or as an aborigine. These people are being used as pawns to justify hate and make political gains.

She's right to fear violence. Peaceful protesters and even onlookers were surrounded, beaten and taken away by steroid thugs in military gear at the Pittsburg G20 conference. It was a horrible sight to see. Oh wait, she's not concerned about the rights and safety of American citizens, it's herself and her political buddies she's worried about.

What is amazing to me is that the G20 and WTO was so over the top and yet let the conservatives get together with guns and teabaggers yelling, threating etc and nothing happens. Its almost like its expected.
08:45 PM on 09/27/2009
Wow, so informed.

Basically they had no permit, hence illegal. So rather then arrest them all they allowed peaceful protests, and when someone started inciting the crowd they went in and surgically removed them from the crowd. It is taught in classes on how to stop riots, you take the catalyst out which is normally only a few of the organizers fleshed in with the larger group.

The teabaggers have, lets face it, brought out the white supremacists groups and the two have merged. To much testosterone and religious thinking then bam, justification for primal behavior. These agency's have every right to raise concerns about the political violence that could happen. Once Regan stepped in and started demolishing education things have pretty much gone down hill.

With your simplistic view you, and others like you, have now successfully so over-used and misused the word "racism" such that you've made the term irrelevant. Today, when the word "racism" is uttered, and you try to evoke "white suprmacy", it sounds like nothing more than defensive political spin of someone that is on the losing side of an argument. You are doing the country and real victims of racism a great disservice.

All my comments pending approval. Apparently providing a link is not acceptable.

Not really a simplistic view, more like calling it what it is. A merger of people that have attracted the same views. When looking at events can anyone honestly say that the signs represented are not skewed.

this country was founded on political violence, civilized discussion has never been a mainstay of the US or any other modern political powerhouse, it's just window dressing to camoflage what really happens back in the boiler room, unfortunately for mankind, conflict is inevitable. If you put two on an island one will always try to dominate the other. must be some kind of basic animal instinct that we can't ignore....
12:57 PM on 09/27/2009
