Ed Cox, Richard Nixon's Son-In-Law, To Become New York GOP Chairman
UPDATE: Ed Cox has been named state GOP chairman at a state committee meeting.
Ed Cox, son-in-law of the late President Richard Nixon, is expected to be named chairman of the Republican Party in New York.
A Manhattan corporate lawyer, Cox is married to Nixon's daughter Tricia.
Cox is said to be already "colliding with forces within the party," as he wants former Mayor Rudy Giuliani to give up any plans on running for governor and focus on Kirsten Gillibrand's appointed senate seat instead.
The state GOP will make their decision today at a suburban Albany hotel.
