Sarah Palin's E-Book Delayed; Publisher Stressing Hardcover Sales Of "Going Rogue"

For the second time this month, a publisher has decided to delay the electronic-book release of a major new title in hopes of maximizing hardcover sales, as the beleaguered industry works out how e-books fit into its marketing strategy.

Clearly, they don't want anyone to actually read this book. They want people to buy it. They are acting as if viral ---i.e. reader to reader --- spin won't help sales. In that, they are, almost certainly, correct.

Rush it out in hard-copy before Christmas; delay the electronic book sales which target readers, in favor of turning pine trees into profits. Along with the rest of us, the publishers can readily see that this book is not going to get any better upon re-write, since neither ex-Governor Palin nor her surrogate, has second-thoughts about anything while Mrs. Palin's reputation weakens with every public statement. This is like selling tomatoes in the market; the best price is the one you get today, whatever happens in the market tomorrow your tomatoes will look worse. They had better sell the bright red tomato quickly to Christians before Xmas or they'll be stuck composting lots rotten tomatoes on remainder shelves near you.

I'll bet that the Heritage Foundation knows what to give everyone on their list this year.

To Sarah Palin's book publicist -- you lie! I believe the delay is due to the underwhelming demand for the book. The bestseller thing was a marketing ploy -- ALL HYPE!! Oldest marketing strategy in the book -- let's hype the book so people will go out and buy a book that they don't know it's about. I guarentee you they will be dissapointed and scrambling for refunds. I'm not drinking the koolaid. I had no intentions of buying that book, anyway. She's a capitalist like all the others, Beck, Rush, et al. I don't find her interesting at all.

The real reason Sarah's book is being delayed is that she wants a cartoon on every page not just every other one. Also there is still discussion about how many half price McDonalds vouchers will be inserted in the book.

I wonder what someone wrote for her about John and Cindy McCain? The campaign staffers? The birt h of her children? Why she took so long and attended so many schools for an undergraduate degeree in journalism. Why can't she name a few magazines and newspapers she reads? Can she still see Russia from her house? Who really built and paid for that house they live? Why did she quit?

What can really be said in this book? She hasn't accomplished anything. The one job she won as governor of AK, she didn't finish. Republicans like her because she's a new face with the same ideas.

I can imagine all she does in the book is talk about her life in AK, being a careerist with 5 kids, and saying Obama is "not like us" and was "born in Kenya." Same old GOP rhetoric. No thanks. I like to read stories about achievement from obscure people.

1 million copies sold is what they hope they get after the big lie about bestseller. Hence the reason for the delay. it's called counting the eggs before the chicken hatch.

Still think the next kid getting PG, will be her downfall. Counting the days while Mommy is away seeming to be important, while her kids are going to run ROGUE. And no telling what's going to happened when you have a very distant and missing parent. Plus none of them can even read??

Sara Palin has really raked in sum bread. This whole fiasco is a win win for Sara, but for John McCain not so much. Do you think Sara will do the right thing and share the wealth? I'm assuming Mrs. Cindy McCain would frown upon her charitable jester. She should at least buy those expensive clothes from the RNC and flaunt them on a book signing tour.
