Bravo to Excelon, PG&E, and now Nike. Why is a warmer Earth so desirable to the extreme right?!?

Phil Knight is a big booster of University of Oregon athletics. It's no wonder that he has taken this position. Eugene is the most liberal city in Oregon when schools in session.

When in doubt on how to vote: check the position of the US Chamber of Commerce and go the other way....

Not just being altruistic, NIKE knows in the long run it is good for business to get ahead of the climate change issue - both in terms of retooling for future regulations and marketing.

wow impressive. I tend to lean towards Adidas but Nike really has my attention. I think it's time for a new pair of shoes.

Nike took one correct step (no pun intended), let us hope they take many more. Now GE needs to follow suit.

haven't bought Nike in years. really, a shoe is a shoe I don't care who wears it. I can't pay over $30 for shoes.

Global warming and Nike are both scammy, so it makes sense.
02:52 PM on 09/30/2009
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is the scammy neocon presence in every rural town. It is so Republican and it's presence it's more like the mafia in some local jurisdictions, if it isn't new born!

Go Nike, run, win!

What scam is global warming? Explain the vast conspiracy to us, and how you know it is true. Take a look at a recent Pew survey from the scientific community. Some 10,000 respondents. Explain how it is that virtually all of them, from diverse scientific fields and backgrounds, accept climate change based on the facts, evidence and greenhouse effect theory, yet armchair experts like yourself know better, can dismiss all the evidence without even understanding it, and allege some ridiculous conspiracy to explain it all away? How did you come by your revelations? Where is your proof? How is it that you know all this, yet thousands of climatologists around the world are oblivious to it? Or are they all in cahoots, too?

This from a company that manufactures shoes overseas in countries where there is not mandate on polution. That's just rich.

Nike does not manufacture its own shoes. Instead, it contracts with manufacturers mostly located in China. I'm interested in knowing what Nike is doing to ensure factory emissions are not adding to the climate change problem.

I'll bet thier doing nothing.

Nike can put thier money where thier mouth is by manufacturing thier shoes in this country at prevailing wage while trying to maintain the smallest possible carbon footprint.
