What's Your Reaction?
Dan Rather Neil Cavuto

Dan Rather told Fox News/Fox Business' Neil Cavuto Thursday that his lawsuit against CBS "is not over."

Rather called the case "a long, hard fight" and said, "despite what CBS and their lawyers would have you believe, it is not over. The New York Court of Appeals gets to decide. And they decide, not CBS' lawyers and their promotion and publicity team."

Rather told Cavuto that his lawsuit is about much more than his dismissal from the network.

"The most important principle and the basic reason I'm in it is, what kind of news are we going to have?" he said. "We have very large corporate interests working with powerful political interests to manipulate the news and the people who report the news, whatever their political persuasion. I don't think the American people want them, and what I have been seeking to do in this trial is to bring out the facts."

He added that he's neither "bitter" nor "sad" but rather "determined," saying he believes "so strongly the public needs to understand that this effort by large corporations and partisan political people to manipulate the news and people who cover the news is not the American way."

The interview aired Tuesday on "Your World with Neil Cavuto" on Fox News at 4PM and will air at 6PM on Cavuto's Fox Business program.

Here is Carl Cameron of Fox News on hidden camera explaining how the corporate media are controlled, that the WTC likely involved an "accelerant", and that 9/11 needs to be investigated:

Will he lose his job like Van Jones?

Keep going, Dan. And once you win, perhaps you will set up a real news network--one that's based on facts without spin or duplicity. Americans could use some real news.

Let's see. Dan insists he know the truth and that others are not telling the truth. He has nothing to back up that assertion. That is the problem and always has been the problem. He wants us to take him at face value and believe him, but we are suppose to doubt all others.

The MSM is corrupt. He was part of that corruption and was happy when it suited him, and now that corruption is working against him. The corrupt always turn on their own and eat them for lunch. He needed to just go away and retire and have a good life. Instead he is coming off as a big whiner and that is what many of us will remember.

Nothing to back it up? LOL
You poor thing. You need to pay attention. Mr. Bush's history re: his time in the reserves is known by almost anyone who pays attention. Mr. Rather's report was truthful - regardless of ANY one document used in the story. It has been documented over and over again by many. He went AWOL. Period. Proven over and over.
Rather was set up and had in order to make it look as if his story wasn't true. It was.
Go read and you will find the proof to back it up many times over.

Given Mr. Rather's statement about corporate and political interests manipulating the news, why would he go on Fox for an interview? Fox is the leader of false and misleading "news/infotainment" , so why would he interview on a show that is notorious for right wing spin?

Great news, Dan. The truth is on your side. Dubya went AWOL even from his cozy draft-dodging alternative service. The facts are the facts. Loads of witnesses to this.

You were tripped up by a fake letter planted by the Bush organization.

But truth will out.

Seems like there's been very little - if any - coverage of this story on the other big two. Freezing him out? I wonder.

Dan, it's over. really.

Appearing on Fox "News" only hinders Dan Rather's case. Resorting to interviews from the tabloid press makes him appear desperate. It's like he did an interview with the National Inquirer.

I hate to say this, but most people don't remember what channel Rather is interviewed on. And it's not like CBS is going to have him on. (Unless they already have?)

Rather was right. In general, he seems to have been fired for the same reason as Bill Maher: speaking honestly and breaking from convention. I dare say both got in trouble for being truthful, albeit with a lowercase "T," since all commentary is arguable truth.

Actually, he got fired for airing misinformation.

I was never a great Rather fan, mainly because I thought he was arrogant and felt he was the holder of the torch for Walter Cronkite, but I hope he wins his appeal. CBS did throw him under the bus when their news producers and board did not act responsibly.

Bush got even for Dan Rathers coverage of the Silverado Savings and Loan ROBBERY.

You know few people know Karl Rove and Jeb Bush were the ones handing out Bailout Money under Daddy Bush ?
