What's Your Reaction?

Keith Olbermann named Newt Gingrich "World's Best Person" for revoking two of his Business Defense and Advisory Council Entrepreneur Awards after he discovered that one went a strip club and the other to a porn DVD superstore.

The owner of the strip club, Dawn Rizos, was looking forward to the awards dinner:

"I honestly thought that Mr. Gingrich wanted to honor our company because it's very successful," Rizos said. "Really, what's two more people to dinner? How rude!"

Any man that cheats on and then dumps his wife in the middle of cancer treatment has a lot of nerve giving out best person awards. Self absorbed people like him need to be ignored, not put on a pedestal.

I'm not certain whom you are referring to. If it's Olbermann, he's never been married. If it's Gingrich, then I suggest you watch the clip. The "Best Person's" is sarcastic and certainly isn't putting anyone on a pedestal. Also, Gingrich wasn't handing out awards for people but for small businesses (in his own petty, hypocritical way)

You must have confused your parties here. You must mean that any man that cheats on this wife in the middle of cancer treatment has a lot of nerve RECEIVING a best person award. Yes. Newt was cheating on his wife with one of his staffers and told her he was divorcing her after her cancer surgery. Newt then went on to marry that woman only to divorce her and marry another woman with whom he cheated on wife number 2. As far as I know, he is still married to wife number 3 but I'm not sure how long it will be before he starts cheating on her and goes on to number 4. I agree with you that a person like Newt should be ignored and not put on a pedestal.

It's a great little scam Gingrich's PAC has going on. Offer a company an award with a signed gavel from Newt himself yet in order to receive that award the company has to pay an annual membership dues of $5,000. What makes Newt Gingrich so important or relevent now? I haven't heard whether the two companies got a refund on their membership payments either.

What does the rating have to do with it?

I can award you the boobie prize and I am not rated by anyone as a cable network.

Why did he revoke the awrd from the strip club? Are the self-rightous running everything nowadays? It's like cigarettes or church. If you don't want to participate, don't.

that's just wrong. 2 legal businesses and one of the "small business owners" need support guys back stabs them.

all porn is not bad and the strip club gives men an outlet.
now if only my wife would understand that.

this stripped down version of ceremonial bestowing should not go unnoticed like some bare pole in the middle of a stage.

He's clearly making fun of all three. I like the change from WTF the best though.

ha ha ha that's funny. I guess we know how much actual thought goes into the Gingrich honors, and how much the namesake himself actually studies his nominees. However, I don't see why Olbermann feels compelled to COMPLIMENT the goon; it wasn't like the award choices were forced on Gingrich, and he is culpable for his mistakes. That he 'corrected' it should not make him worthy of such compliments from one of the most liberal talking heads on TV.

It makes me wonder about Olbermann's standards. Why, again does Gingrich get this supposed distinction for simply correcting what was his mistake in the first place? It's clear Gingrich didn't put ANY efforts whatsoever into vetting the nominees. And now he get's some kind of distinction from our most liberal news show? Sheesh.

It reminds me that I'm really not missing anything, beyond Rachel Maddow and the Animal Planet, by not having cable. I can watch Maddow online, and the Animal Planet can't do anything PBS can't do.

The "Best Persons" segment is sarcastic and humorous (most of the time.) The sarcasm was VERY obvious.
