Victoria's Secret Holds Open Casting Call At Yankee Stadium (PHOTOS)

Angels descended on Yankee Stadium this weekend, and not the ones from Los Angeles (or for that matter, Anaheim).

Victoria's Secret held an open casting call for supermodel wanna-bes at the Bronx ballpark on Saturday. The winner of the national search will join Alessandra Ambrosio, Miranda Kerr, Doutzen Kroes, Marisa Miller and all the other angels as they walk in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show that will be broadcast live on December 1st.

i still say they could have a couple of fat chicks on the show. i want to see sista-girl Toccara in the show. and stop with all the freaking wings.
however, being a female, the show is not for me, i get bored watching the show after five minutes. the models all look alike, the fashions all look alike.

a better way to look at is that only a handful of people get to be a victorias secret model. Many can try only a few can achieve. Its like basket ball players for men. Do we all say its hard on men because society says the most attractive man has tons of money. This is a lot of preasure on a man. The system always has two sides. Next time you feel bad for women maybe you should evaluate the other side of the story.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and old saying but true. The idea that somehow only the genetically elite get to be "Victoria's Secret models" (gasp), or that Victoria's Secret models set the standard is silly.

I think the catalogs are great to look through --- major eye candy (what lingerie Oh, are the selling lingerie?), but life is way to complex, varied and fascinating to get stiuck in teh narrow rut of thinking airbrushed photos are the epitome of beauty.

This country has an obsession with beauty and perfection. Body image issues follow women throughout their entire lives and negative body image is beginning to affect girls at very early ages. We need to change the way we look at women. We need to stand up to main stream media and tell them that the current idea of beauty is totally false. Tell the media to embrace women and men of all shapes, sizes, races and ages.
