The Republicans still do not have the courage to stand up to their puppet handlers.... and say, "Screw the Campaign Contributions."

In some respects behavior like "failure to get the job done", makes these Republican representatives true RINOs. They deserve the wrath of the rank and file and the treatment that Lindsey Graham received.

Not one GOP vote? What a surprise! Fascinating.

How does this qualify as news? It became exceedingly clear from the very first days of the Obama administration, that the GOP has determined to march in lock-step against absolutely anything that the Dems propose.

I mean, could there be any more graphic illustration of this than the anti gang-rape bill presented by Sen. Franken? 30 Republican senators actually voted in favor of gang-rape!

So the notion that no GOP votes will materialize just because the citizens who entrusted them with the power to protect our best interests, will happily proclaim that they stood as one for the fat-cat insurers, and scr ew the electorate.

Godd job, boys!

Actually, when you think about it... why WOULD it get a single GOP vote? This is the number one cash cow for the Republicans (and you know their motto, their wallets always comes first - then the GOP, THEN the country.) When is this country going to wake up, small the coffee, and realize that Republicans have nobody's interests at heart, except their own!?

And that may wel ascertain that four years from now and forever after there will not be one single GOP vote for anything. It is high time that the GOP be replaced by one or more parties which more accurately reflect charity, in the sense of religious kindness, no matter what one's religion, education and simply sanity. Many persons may not be completely in tune with Democrats, but association with Dinosaurs is a little passe. I have noticed that a number of socalled rightwingers make exactly identical statements, on a range of topics, as what Bush used to call evildoers, such as terrorists. Ultimately, though, what everyone understands is what the dollar buys and how many of those you have. No jobs, devalued dollar, and no healthcare is hardly profitable, not even for the rich. Wealth really is NOT a measure of paper and coins in the pocket, numbers on accounts, or bleeps on the computerscreen. Wealth is a matter of comfort, health, wellness, good friends and peace, and being in tune with our Maker.

And this is news? Healthcare reform proposals by Dems won't get Republican votes no matter what they contain. Unless maybe we chancg our name to the United States of Insurance Companies. And give the Republicans back control of everything.
02:07 PM on 10/12/2009
That's OK. It will pass in the house anyways and it will just make the repubs look bad in the eyes of the majority who want a decent healthcare plan.

The Republicans want wealth care for the insurance companies, not health care for the citizens of America.

Would anyone be surprised though if there was not one, single GOP vote in the House or Senate? They've as much as said they wouldn't no matter how many concessions the Dems made. Frankly, I'd be shocked if there are any, "aye" votes from the Republican side of the aisle.

For all the cries about the lack of bipartisianship by the Democrats that we hear from the GOP, they've done nothing but obstruct this legislation (and everything else) at every turn.

Eric Can'tor speaks with the history of the GOP in full support of their long time anti-American middle class posture.

I have been researching to find a single piece of legislation that was primarily sponsored by the GOP that had as its intended beneficiaries the vast majority of the men and women of this nation and from the time of Eisenhower through today I have not found one.. I have not found one single piece of legislation that benefited the middle class, the poor or even the veterans of this nation that was sponsored or received major support from the GOP in the past 60 yrs. NOT ONE>

Still at it? Wow, I commend you. I gave up years ago. The closet I came was Eisenhower, and he really didn't contribute with any worthwhile legislation. He did try and come to the table with integration, and attempted to make everyone seem welcome to the "table". At least the best I can say is Eisenhower did no harm to the middle class. Nixon, well, that was another story. Redistribution of wealth to the uppers started with him, and keeps going and going and going.

Really, shocking... oh well, do the right thing and get the reform going!!!

The President requested that congress design something to compete with the insurers and public option is what they came up with so the GOP will fight this to the last person just to deny the President's request .

And this is news how? If Obama and the majority of Americans are for it, the GOP is against it.

My relatives who live in Florida are so very proud of Rep Alan Grayson, they only have one regret that he is not their congressman they are stuck in a district that was gerrymander back when the party of no took over the Florida legislature a few years back and one of the good old boys won the seat.

Rep Grayson defeated another of the good old boys and took over his seat in Congress. The party of No have target his seat for the next election in 2010 and are telling their voters he will be defeated. Florida Democrats are asking for donations to help reelect Rep Grayson in 2010.

Yes, he is a man of the people. It will be interesting who "no" comes up with, but I can guess the man with guts will win out!

Not news! Everyone knew the GOP would be given every opportunity to engage and participate and everyone knew they would continually and collectively give the American people the bird. The upshot of healthcare/insurance reform being passed this year is that the future of the republican party will be reflected in the midterm results, these are likely to be devestating. The time for caring about what any of them think is now over, necessary and comprehensive change is what they are going to get it's just a crying shame that they cannot be kept from benefitting from it.

Tell Rep Cantor he is not relevant and no really cares what he says any more, tell him to go to a Britney Spears concert and maybe he could be relevant sitting in the teeny boppers seats. Playing with his blackberry like he did when the President was addressing the joint session of congress and his Republithugs were so disrespectful to the President.

Oh and before I forget what happen to the Health Care Reform he was going to present on behalf of the Party of No. I remember he was waving a bunch of papers around saying that was the bill, until one of his own members spill the beans and said the paper had no figures on them.

Virginia you have been had with this incompetent politician.

I think it is way past time for Eric to make Aliyah already. The rightwingers in Israel need some help. Heavens to Betsy, as hard as he tries, he makes no impact here.
