planetgreen.discovery.com:

Woody Harrelson is a vegan but the character he plays in his latest film, Zombieland, loves Twinkies. Problem? Not so much. "My character is searching for the ultimate comfort food, which to him is not another human being but a Twinkie," says Harrelson. "I'm not a Twinkie lover. I don't do sugar or dairy either. When we finally shot my Twinkie-eating scene in the movie, they had to give me a specially made mock Twinkie made of corn meal. It could spur a healthy Twinkie revolution."

Honestly, I've been following Woddy for a while now and I'm just not at peace with him promoting twinkies in a movie.
That doesn't make sense, considering what he stands for...

Hm.

I'll be Woody Harrelson's vegan twinkie.

*nudge, wink*

I would love to eat a vegan twinkie.

I've never had a twinkie, but i've read their label, and holy cr@p that SHlT will survive nuclear winter.

Zombie land was awesome by the way. I hope they make another one. Zombie movies rule.

Corn is bad for you.
The more you eat the less minerals and vitamins you absorb,
Even organic corn chips are bad for you.

I couldn't care less about the vegan stuff, but Zombieland is a great movie and Woody was hilarious.

Twinkies are not intended to be health food. You can find these at vegan bakeries already made too. Dulce Vegan in Atlanta supplies them to various vegan shops. They can be very expensive because they don't mass produce them like the big guys. Here's an example of a shop that sells them for $4.50 for just two http://www.cosmosveganshoppe.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=CVS&Product_Code=DVVT&Product_Count=&Category_Code= And a different twist-- chocolate twinkies http://www.cosmosveganshoppe.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=CVS&Product_Code=DVDCT&Product_Count=&Category_Code=

But you could take hints from their ingredients and see that it's nearly the same as the recipe offered here:

Organic unbleached flour, organic soymilk, filtered water, organic evaporated cane juice, canola oil, organic apple cider vinegar, organic vanilla extract, baking soda, baking powder, salt. Filling: Organic confectioner's sugar, Earth Balance Buttery Sticks, organic soymilk, Earth Balance Shortening.

Regular Twinkies, some people are surprised to learn, are not even vegetarian because they contain beef fat.

Yeah, the Cornmeal has potential, the Lunchbox version sounds awful. Can't believe they came up with it, sugar and fat, what the hello? I thought it was intended to be healthy, yuk. :p

There is a world of food in in those 3 ingredients. at the right quantities they are fine for you! It's processed food which is the devil these days, vegan or not.

Woody is the man! I didn't know he was vegan. I switched to vegetarianism a couple weeks ago and limited my dairy and I feel a whole lot better,... physically and about my karma.

You don't like home baked cornbread? I love to bake it in my cast iron skillet to make my home made stuffing. It is delicious to cut a slice out of the skillet while it is warm and add a little butter. My family also takes left over cornbread stored in the refrigerator and pours cold milk over it. A lot of Mexican meals are made with corn meal. Mexican food is awesome.

Yeah, I guess you're right. Corn bread is pretty good.

Not sure if it's as good as sponge cake though.
