Tilda Swinton Joins Fight Against Donald Trump

EDINBURGH, Scotland — Academy Award-winning actress Tilda Swinton has joined the fight against Donald Trump's plans for a multi-million pound (dollar) golf resort in Scotland.

The film star added her name to a 15,000-strong petition backing four residents at the Menie estate on the Scottish coast who face possible eviction to make way for the U.S. real estate developer's planned luxury hotel, housing and golf complex.

Swinton, who starred in "Burn After Reading," accused the Trump Organization on Monday of bullying.

Trump's Scotland representative, George Sorial, responded by saying the actress was siding with "extremists."

Trump was granted permission to build the golf course on an environmentally sensitive stretch of coast after a public inquiry in 2008.

I lived in Aberdeenshire and although Trump may have the right and money to build his golf course, I think there will be more locals opposed to the development. Probably not many with the resources that Tilda has, though. It's a beautiful place, I'll always have a fondness for the land and people...... but I would guess people mainly want to golf there for historical reasons. The weather isn't great for outdoor sports (much of the year), even if golf was invented there....

First of all, define satire. Secondly Tilda goes against the grain. She just married a woman. Last time I looked she is also a woman. Now I know times have a changed and things are different and society is struggling to understand it all, but for the most part, but I must say IMHO, marriage between the same sex is never going to be considered normal. therefore Tilda is not normal. I do think she is a very good actress, but art has nothing to do with it. We can all express ourselves with crayons and paper if necessary. We can all usually cry if we think of something really sad. LIke the two towers crashing to ground zero. What we draw from or use to make art whether it is with paint or with crayons or film- doesn't matter. Personally I think all things can become cleared with a mind focused on goals that are the best for the most number of people involved. If this sounds like science and technolgy, good. Good night.

I heard it on Entertainment News. They were showing couple for Gay Marriage Rights, and now the buzz is "When". Well, I say " Keep fighting" if you want to disrupt the churches message, but these groups won't give up. So far they are making strides toward equality. It's all about who you are inside anyway. Some day the gov't might get metaphysical. I don't see it happening before 2012 though.

People like Donald Trump need to be put in their place. This type of rich person is so morally and ethically corrupt, so shallow and self-involved, that they think nothing of displacing people from their homes or of destroying habitat to build their little playgrounds. It's nauseating. I'm thoroughly disgusted by the whole damn lot of them--from the West Coast to the East Coast. The planet grows more fragile by the day, and yet they think nothing of building HUGE homes, sucking up TONS of resources, spending MILLIONS on toys and baubles. Time to put them in their place.
