ahem! now about those "spectrums of possibilities". how in hell can a person who even if we allow the fact..that initially they were kidnapped..stay gone for 18 years...roaming free with the "kidnapper" being miles away...never once consider asking people to dial 911? if a black woman had told the same story..no one would believe it.

You are right it's all a big hoax, she kidnapped and raped herself with a turkey baster. You are SO smart, you figured it out.

Uh... Stockholm Syndrome? Fear and control? Why are you blaming the victim here? The only thing I agree with you on is that people probably would be less likely to believe a black woman. But how is that relevant here?

I hope she makes millions from her story after she writes a book and appears on Oprah.

I thought that for a second too, but when I thought about it, I don't think I really want to hear anymore about what she went through.

I'm sorry she had to go through it, but I don't have to, and I think I'll choose not to.

I'm so glad for her. I am also so glad for her parents. It must be great for them to have their child back.

I wish this young lady and her children all the best and I only hope the media do too.

Now they're going to exploit her all over again on the "up and up"

Reply    Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 10:24 PM on 10/14/2009

Exactly, because they people "need to know". More like the media need to get $$paid$$ to exploit another victim.

She still looks the same, and I am so happy for her. Everytime I think of what she endured, I hurt inside and I can't imagine how she survived. I put myself in her place and I think that she is remarkable. I was really offended today when I watched Nancy Grace and they had a psychologist on that said that she should not get paid for this interview. She needs quality counseling and so do her children if they are going to somehow, get over the ordeal and emerge as normal individuals. I hope that they can put it behind them enough to be loving, caring, productive members of society. Back to my original train of thought, counseling is pricey and this interview would provide them with the money to pay for it. I hope that Jaycee and her family benefits finacially, from this ordeal. If anyone deserves it, they do. God Bless You Jaycee and your family!!!!

I WAS JUST GOING TO WRITE THAT!

You took the words right out of my mouth...

I first saw the picture without even reading it and I thought "oh, a young picture of jodi foster, why is she on people? maybe she is going to talk about being a lesbian" but then i read it was jaycee and was shocked.

When I first looked at the picture that;s what I thought. She looks terrific and considering what she has been through I hope she makes millions in whatever she does.

Wow, she's barely aged. I hope she and her daughters can get the psychological help they'll need to be able to function in society. I feel so bad for them.

I'm really happy that she is okay, and looks well. It is a very scary world when children are taken and parents have no idea what has become of their child.

Yes he was practically tarred and feathered - what a shame for the poor guy as well.

Her story is inspirational - to survive that, raise her children, and come out of it able to smile. I'd never look at anything unauthorized - but I'm glad she chose to allow some photos and release a statement.

Not to sound crass but she looks great. I thought that photo om the cover of People was one that was taken some years ago. She must have great genes to have endured all those years of intense stress and still look so young.

intense stress! boy are you people gullible. no wonder republicans get elected no matter how badly they screw up everyones life. let me put it this way...here are two of the many things whites can do but we blacks can not. (1.) we can't sue cigarette companys and win...no matter how many loved ons die of cancer. (2.) we can't go live with someone for 18 years and even after we are seen walking about freely during our "kidnapping"...claim we were kidnapped and then sell our story and photos to the highest bidder. tawana brawleys story stank but we got you back on this one. this story really stinks.

I am struck by how youthful she looks. But she also looks very healthy and her optimism is commendable. What impresses me the most is that she isn't a victim in that she made the best of her situation by educating her girls. If they have never been to school but have tested on their grade level, this is a testimony to their mother's incredible strength.
I wish her and the girls a wonderful life, I'm sending good thoughts their way. You're a winner, Jaycee, made of strong stuff!
