I see nothing wrong with the imagery. It's obviously a satire. They were little gnomes. All they need now is a papa smurf in there with a Hitler mustache.

Is this the artist who posed about 250 plastic French poodles around a recreation of the birth of Christ? That was powerful art -- extremely provocative -- and has to be seen live for appreciation.

"Hoerl says: "the fascist idea, the striving to manipulate people or dictate to people ... is latently dangerous and remains present in our society."

True, and not just in Germany: I'd suggest it's alive and well and dominates the Republican base in this country too.
