Lindsay Lohan Ordered To Appear In Court

LOS ANGELES — Lindsay Lohan has another date with a judge.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel has ordered the "Mean Girls" star to appear in a Beverly Hills, Calif., courtroom Friday morning.

The 23-year-old actress was placed on three years of probation in 2007 after she pleaded guilty to two counts of being under the influence of cocaine, and no contest to two counts of drunken driving and one count of reckless driving. She spent 84 minutes in jail.

It is unclear why Lohan has been ordered to appear. The judge's order was made during a routine progress report hearing on Wednesday.

Court records show that no warrant has been issued, and they do not reflect a probation violation has occurred.

E-mails to Lohan's publicist and attorney were not immediately returned Thursday.

Lohan's probation has not been without incident. Since January, the actress has escaped further punishment twice after her substance abuse treatment program notified the court she had violated the rules.

Both instances were described as misunderstandings.

Um, have you seen her parents? Unfortunately, she didn't get a lot of good direction or stability from that dynamic duo of dysfunction.

She'll either grow up or blow through all her money or both. But the only chance she's got is to stop using the booze & drugs. Two DUI's and two cocaine charges???? The question should be why isn't she STILL in jail.

Ms. Lohan is an ongoing train wreck we can't look away from. Beautiful and famous, she has everything most people think should be enough to make them happy. I think regular everyday people like to keep up with her trials and tribulations in order to make themselves feel superior. "We would do a lot better if we were in her Manolo Bahlik heels," we think. Well, maybe not..

Thing is, she is a troubled young woman who has had way too much way too soon. A lot of what she experienences is no different than any other adolescent goes through, but she has the added complications of being under the microscope and being saddled with useless parents who care only about their next press clipping.

Maybe she could take a page out of Jodie Foster's book - go to college and try to gain some perspective with a few years out of the spotlight.

I find her annoying - or rather the stories about her annoying The annoyance is not enough to make me even dislike her.

I generally "dislike" someone because of certain actions by the person which were hurtful to another - but not to the extent that I wish that they would die.
However I would love them to experience their own medicine.

Over the past several years with Lindsay I have been impressed with her early talent before she got in the wrong crowd and everybody became concerned with good reason. She is a bright girl and knows it, but works against you if you are going down the wrong road in life. When she was 18, I thought she could be the next Natalie Wood who had great talent and a quality in her spirit we all loved.

I hope Lindsay can see we all care for her and wish her the best in whatever she does. The first thing is she needs to stay away from drugs and alcohol and I say that because I know first hand what that can do to a person short and long term. I was reading an article today by Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas. Even though she has been clean for a long time, her past has followed her and delivers a blow to her psyche every once in awhile.

In the Hollywood scene appearances are everything and they can be magnified in the drop of a hat because of the visibility of stardom. The only people celebrities need to worry about is themselves and their families. The fans are a remote second. I hope anyone with the talent to make it big in movies, fashion, music or sports can appreciate their qualities can diminish over time but when extraneous influences are channeled into that person's life, the qualities will wane rapidly.

part of the problem is her family. her mother enables her to no end. allowing your teen daughters to go to night clubs and be served as adult is completely irresponsible. she will never get clean with such a co-dependent family.
